- Manage a portfolio of projects of varying size, complexity, and duration and recommend priorities based on safety, compliance, operational risk, value, resource capacity, and business need.

- Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering and review drawings, specifications, calculations, estimates, and construction methods for technical adequacy, code compliance, constructability, operability, and maintainability.

- Prepare bid packages, support contractor selection and contract negotiations, clarify deliverables, and administer contractor performance against safety, quality, schedule, cost, and documentation expectations.

- Coordinate labor, materials, equipment, outages, access, permits, inspections, testing, and specialty support with affected departments and external parties.

- Direct execution from planning through construction and commissioning, resolving constraints and coordinating work to limit operational disruption and protect critical infrastructure.

- Monitor and communicate actual performance against approved scope, schedule, budget, forecast, quality, and benefits; analyze variances; maintain accurate commitments and accruals; and implement recovery or corrective plans.

- Lead cross-functional project teams, set clear expectations, facilitate decisions, coach contributors, and maintain productive relationships with site leaders, employees, contractors, consultants, vendors, and agencies.

- Provide concise, timely project reporting on progress, forecast, milestones, risks, decisions, changes, and outcomes to project sponsors and stakeholders.

- Complete commissioning and handover with Operations and Maintenance, including training, operating and maintenance procedures, preventive-maintenance updates, spare parts, warranties, as-built drawings, asset records, financial closeout, lessons learned, and verification of acceptance criteria.

- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills:

- Sound judgment, systems thinking, problem sensitivity, root-cause analysis, and timely decision-making under changing conditions.

- Leadership and influence across functions without relying solely on direct authority; ability to establish accountability, resolve conflict, and facilitate decisions.

- Ability to interpret and review engineering drawings, specifications, contracts, estimates, schedules, cost reports, and regulatory or permitting requirements.

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project scheduling, cost-control, document-management, and CMMS or enterprise systems.

- Capital budgeting, cost estimating, forecasting, accruals, economic evaluation, and asset capitalization/retirement processes.

- General knowledge of collective bargaining agreements and their implications for project planning and execution.

Education & Experience:

- Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, project management, or a closely related discipline; substantial experience demonstrating the ability to perform the required duties of the role may be considered in lieu of formal education.

- Seven years of progressively responsible engineering, construction, maintenance, or capital-project experience in mining, mineral processing, metals, heavy manufacturing, or a comparable industrial environment.

- Demonstrated experience managing and successful completion of multidisciplinary projects through planning, design, budgeting, procurement, construction, commissioning, and closeout, including responsibility for scope, schedule, budget, contractors and risk with minimal supervision.

- Competent in using Microsoft Office, MS Project or equivalent, and AutoCAD. Knowledge of standard drafting procedures including the ability to interpret drawings and specifications.

Preferred:

- Five or more years of relevant project experience in an OSHA regulated operating processing plant, smelter, refinery, foundry, or similar continuous industrial facility.

- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or comparable project-management credential.

- Professional Engineer licensure or Engineer Intern certification, where applicable to the discipline and assignment.
