About this role

Phillips 66 & YOU - Together we can fuel the future

As a Director NGL BD and Marketing , you will lead Phillips 66's Midstream NGL asset portfolio and commercial relationships with third-party NGL liquids counterparties, with accountability for NGL asset P&L and coordination across assets. You will guide a market-facing team responsible for y-grade commercial activity, supply development, and commercial management of key off-hub assets while partnering with Midstream Projects, Midstream Operations, G&P Commercial, Trading, Origination, Scheduling, Finance, Accounting, and Legal. This role combines business development, commercial strategy, financial discipline, and talent leadership to advance growth opportunities and support wellhead-to-market value creation.

At Phillips 66, Lead Forward is our leadership approach. It defines how leaders show up, make decisions, and support their teams while delivering results in a complex, fast‑changing environment. Leaders who lead other leaders are expected to scale strong leadership across teams. This includes coaching leaders, aligning work to strategy, and breaking down barriers so teams can work together effectively. You’ll guide others through change, encourage sound decision making, and ensure accountability for results.

What You'll Do

- Lead an external-facing team responsible for complex day-to-day y-grade transactions, long-term y-grade supply business development, and commercial management of key off-hub assets.

- Own y-grade supply forecasts for pipeline and fractionation assets and identify expansion and optimization opportunities that support long-term wellhead-to-market growth.

- Develop and advance midstream growth opportunities, including debottlenecking, expansions, joint ventures, and asset-backed commercial solutions; evaluate and structure key transactions that create value across the product life cycle.

- Develop annual business plans, recommend financial and headcount budgets, establish business targets and key performance indicators, and coordinate priorities and project timing across the organization.

- Provide economic and analytical leadership by coordinating financial models, capital evaluations, commercial assessments, and contractual analyses for investment and business decisions.

- Lead the commercial stage-gate process from concept through approval, clearly articulating market rationale, risks, full economics, commercial rigor, analytical quality, and capital stewardship.

- Build and maintain strategic relationships with customers, counterparties, and key decision-makers; lead value-focused commercial conversations, understand buying influences and needs, and coordinate effective two-way communication and issue resolution.

- Lead cross-functional teams to develop tailored commercial solutions and contractual terms that meet customer and counterparty needs while supporting acceptable profitability, cash flow, and risk outcomes.

- Represent Phillips 66 with customers, counterparties, and industry participants, including participation in relevant industry forums and the development of market intelligence.

- Guide forecasting, variance analysis, performance reviews, and accountability practices; set objectives for direct reports, address performance issues, and ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and internal policies.

- Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing commercial organization through coaching, capability development, and deliberate preparation of future leaders.

- Engage directly with important prospects and counterparties to demonstrate Phillips 66's commitment while leading the broader commercial effort through the team rather than managing a personal account portfolio.

What You'll Bring - Required

- Legally able to work in the United States.

- Bachelor's degree or higher.

- 10 years of experience in the energy industry.

- Willingness and ability to travel as needed to support partnership development or commercial initiatives.

- Experience leading teams and managing commercial or business development activities, including business planning, budgeting, performance management, and cross-functional execution.

What Makes You Stand Out - Preferred

- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.

- 15 years of experience in the energy industry, including commercial, business development, operations, scheduling, and/or logistics experience in downstream and/or midstream.

- Functional expertise in NGLs, transportation operations, scheduling, tariff methodologies, contract management, regulatory compliance, economic evaluation, and internal controls.

- Experience developing project economic evaluations and applying financial information to investment and commercial decisions.

- Demonstrated ability to influence across departmental and functional boundaries in a matrix organization and facilitate alignment, ownership, and commitment among key discipline leads.

- Experience developing strategic customer or counterparty relationships and negotiating complex commercial solutions.

- Ability to work independently, manage complex and changing information, plan and align resources, and communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
