About the Role

As an Account Executive, you will win new clients for our IT staffing services and grow those relationships over time. We are looking for someone exceptionally driven, with an entrepreneurial mindset. This role involves a lot of on-the-job learning, so mindset and attitude matter most. You should have a strong track record of staying self-motivated, taking complete ownership of your work, and demonstrating an exceptional work ethic.

Key Responsibilities

- Identify and pursue new business opportunities through outbound calls, email, networking, and referrals
- Build and manage a sales pipeline of prospective clients
- Meet with hiring managers and business leaders to understand their technology talent needs
- Present ASCENDING's staffing solutions, including our custom screening process
- Negotiate rates and terms, and close new business
- Partner with internal recruiting teams to fill client roles with qualified consultants
- Maintain client relationships and grow existing accounts
- Track activity and pipeline accurately, and report progress against sales goals
- Stay current on IT hiring trends and the DC Metro talent market

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in [field of study]
- 3–10 years of experience in business-to-business sales or another performance-driven role
- Strong polish and professionalism
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proven track record as a self-starter, with examples to share
- Passion for solving problems and learning

Preferred Qualifications

- Previous talent acquisition experience (highly preferred)
- Industry experience in technology, finance, fintech, or accounting
