About this role

Position Summary

At Netsmart, we are seeking an experienced Human Services professional who understands the challenges providers face and is passionate about helping organizations use technology to improve care, strengthen operations, and better serve their communities.

As a Community Strategist for Human Services, you will serve as a trusted industry advisor across the Human Services market, including behavioral health, addiction treatment, autism, intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), and child and family services. You will bring industry expertise, strategic thinking, market insight, and healthcare technology knowledge to client, prospect, and internal conversations.

You will partner with executive, clinical, operational, and technology leaders to understand organizational priorities, identify emerging opportunities and challenges, and develop strategies that help organizations achieve their goals and maximize the value of their Netsmart partnership.

An important component of the role will include understanding and supporting the needs of Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics (CCBHCs), including the evolving clinical, operational, regulatory, quality, data, integrated care, and technology considerations affecting these organizations. CCBHC expertise complements the position’s broader focus across the Human Services market.

Responsibilities

- Serve as a trusted industry advisor and subject matter expert for organizations across behavioral health, addiction treatment, autism, IDD, child and family services, and other Human Services communities.
- Develop strong relationships with executive, clinical, operational, and technology leaders, helping connect organizational priorities with technology strategies and opportunities.
- Monitor Human Services market trends, regulatory developments, provider challenges, and emerging care-delivery models.
- Develop strategies to address changing market needs and effectively communicate market insights and recommendations to internal teams, clients, prospects, and industry stakeholders.
- Provide strategic guidance to CCBHC organizations as they navigate evolving clinical, operational, regulatory, quality, data, integrated care, and technology needs.
- Partner with clients to develop strategic plans and technology roadmaps that support organizational goals and maximize the value of Netsmart solutions.
- Serve as a voice of the market and client within Netsmart, bringing provider needs, competitive insights, and industry developments to Product, Client Alignment, Solutions Consulting, Sales, Regulatory, Marketing, and operational teams.
- Conduct and contribute to competitive analysis to identify market differentiation, emerging trends, threats, and strategic opportunities.
- Participate in the win/loss process, providing market context, identifying decision drivers, and translating insights into actionable recommendations.
- Participate in community-specific webinars and educational programs for clients, prospects, and industry stakeholders.
- Attend, participate in, and present at industry conferences, trade shows, user groups, and community-specific events as needed.
- Lead or support cross-functional initiatives designed to address complex client needs, strengthen partnerships, and improve the overall client experience.
- Collaborate across product, clinical, technology, sales, regulatory, marketing, operational, and client-facing teams to connect organizations with the appropriate solutions and expertise.
- Travel approximately 30% for client and prospect meetings, site visits, conferences, trade shows, and other industry engagements.

Key Qualifications

- 5+ years of experience in the Human Services market, which could include behavioral health, addiction treatment, autism services, intellectual and developmental disabilities, child and family services, integrated care, or related areas.
- Experience within a Human Services provider organization, healthcare technology company, consulting organization, or similar client-facing environment.
- Knowledge of the Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) model and the clinical, operational, regulatory, quality, data, and technology considerations affecting these organizations.
- Strong understanding of market trends, industry dynamics, regulatory developments, and operational challenges impacting Human Services providers.
- Demonstrated success developing trusted relationships with C-suite executives and clinical, operational, and technology leaders.
- Ability to translate complex industry, market, regulatory, competitive, and operational challenges into practical strategies and actionable recommendations.
- Experience communicating market insights and strategic recommendations effectively to both internal and external audiences.
- Experience contributing to market analysis, competitive intelligence, and/or win/loss processes.
- Strong presentation and facilitation skills, including experience participating in webinars, conferences, trade shows, user groups, or executive client meetings.
- Strong understanding of healthcare technology and electronic health record solutions. Experience with Netsmart solutions such as myEvolv or myAvatar is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate across product, clinical, technology, sales, marketing, operational, and client-facing teams.
- Strong executive communication, consultative problem-solving, relationship-building, and strategic thinking skills.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant professional experience.
- Ability to travel up to 30%.

The Opportunity

This is an opportunity to apply your Human Services expertise across a broad and diverse provider community. You will work with leaders across the country, helping organizations navigate a rapidly changing healthcare environment while influencing how technology can address meaningful clinical, operational, and business challenges.

You will also help shape Netsmart’s understanding of the market by identifying trends, evaluating competitive dynamics, participating in win/loss analysis, and bringing the perspectives of clients and providers into strategic conversations.

We are looking for someone who can engage credibly with provider executives, understand their environment, anticipate market changes, and turn complex challenges into meaningful strategies and solutions.
