Te kōwhiringa | The Opportunity
Our Hamilton Paving team is growing, and we’re looking for experienced Paver Drivers and Feeder Drivers to join the crew.
These are hands-on roles where you’ll be right in the middle of our asphalt paving operations working closely with the wider crew to deliver safe, efficient and high-quality results.
We’re recruiting for:
Paver Driver / Operator
You’ll be responsible for operating the paver safely and efficiently, helping deliver MicroPave works to the required levels and specifications. You’ll operate and monitor paver controls, drive pavers to site and conduct maintenance requirements as required, while working closely with the crew to maintain quality and productivity.
Feeder Driver / Operator
You’ll operate the feeder as part of the paving operation, be efficient at loading material onto the Feeder, helping maintain a consistent supply of material to the paver and keeping the job moving efficiently. You’ll work closely with the Load Master and ground crew, complete your pre-start checks and play an active part in keeping the site safe and productive.
Both roles will also involve supporting the wider paving crew when needed. Teamwork is a big part of how our crews operate
Nga pūkenga matua | Important Skills
We’re looking for people who know their way around a paving crew and are comfortable working around heavy plant and machinery.
Ideally, you’ll bring:
- Previous experience operating a paver or feeder within a paving environment
- A Class 5 License, with WTR endorsements
- Strong awareness of plant and site safety requirements
- A positive, reliable and team-focused attitude
- The flexibility to work the hours required by paving operations
- Able to travel away from home for extended periods
- A strong commitment to Downer’s Zero Harm culture
Experience operating heavy machinery in civil construction is highly valued, alongside good communication and the ability to work effectively as part of a busy crew
