Job Description
Gracenote, a Nielsen company, is dedicated to connecting audiences to the entertainment they love, powering a better media future for all people. We are the content data business unit of Nielsen that powers innovative entertainment experiences for the world's leading media companies. Our entertainment metadata and connected IDs deliver advanced content navigation and discovery to connect consumers to the content they love and discover new ones.
Every day, Gracenote ingests data for over 100,000 channels and hundreds of streaming catalogs worldwide. It arrives through thousands of partner feeds covering linear schedules, streaming and VOD catalogs, and program metadata, in every format imaginable and changing constantly. That data powers entertainment discovery for the world's top cable, OTT, CE and digital clients, reaching hundreds of millions of consumers.
We are hiring a Sr. Product Manager II to own the Single Ingest Platform, the system that gets all of this data into Gracenote. Based in our Bengaluru engineering center, you will report to our Director of Product Management, Data Ingest and Delivery, and work alongside our Data Delivery Product Manager. Together you own how data enters and leaves our AI-driven metadata factory.
This is a software platform role, and the platform is a service. Teams downstream decide what to do with the data once it lands. Your job is to make sure every source is set up fast, every field we need is captured correctly, and every change reaches the platform in minutes. Speed and accuracy at scale are the whole game.
It is also a hands-on role. You will write specs yourself, work directly with engineers and Data Architects, and query the data to answer your own questions. We are looking for someone senior who still genuinely enjoys this work, and who sees AI as the way to run thousands of feeds without thousands of manual fixes.
Responsibilities
- Own the product vision, roadmap and delivery for the Single Ingest Platform across linear schedules, streaming and VOD catalogs, and every other source type our datasets depend on.
- Own the speed and accuracy of getting partner data into Gracenote, from onboarding new sources to processing every update.
- Drive AI innovation so ingest scales to new sources, markets and metadata types with greater speed and efficiency, without adding manual processes.
- Ensure the platform is monitored for performance and breaks, so issues are caught and resolved before they affect downstream teams.
- Run ingest as a service, translating the needs of Dataset Product Managers, metadata factory teams and Delivery into a prioritized roadmap.
- Define and publish the platform's service levels and key metrics for speed, accuracy, reliability and cost, and use them to drive decisions.
- Work effectively across a globally distributed organization, with strong async written communication, disciplined documentation, and willingness to flex hours for overlap with US and EU stakeholders.
Qualifications
- 6+ years of product management experience, including 3+ years on platform, data or data integration products.
- Hands-on experience with data ingestion or integration at scale: onboarding external sources, handling format and schema changes, and monitoring data flows.
- Has applied AI or ML inside a product, not only for personal productivity. Examples include extraction, classification, anomaly detection or schema mapping. Can reason about confidence, error rates and when a human needs to step in.
- Actively uses LLMs in day-to-day product work to speed up analysis, automate repetitive PM tasks and make better decisions. Be prepared to walk through concrete examples in the interview.
- Demonstrated appetite for hands-on IC work at a senior level. Comfortable with XML, JSON, SQL and REST APIs, and able to write or LLM-assist your own Python or SQL scripts to answer product questions.
- Runs a product on a small set of input and output metrics, and delivers predictably against commitments in a structured, milestone-driven development process.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with a proven ability to influence stakeholders across geographies and time zones.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Experience with TV and entertainment metadata, EPG data or content supply chains.
- Familiarity with industry metadata and feed standards such as CableLabs ADI, TV-Anytime, or MovieLabs MEC and Avails.
- Experience with near-real-time or event-driven data pipelines.
- Experience building partner-facing source specifications or self-service onboarding tools.
- Experience partnering with Data Architects to shape complex business data into coherent, extensible, scalable structures.
