About the Role
Join the D.R. Johnston Group at JBS Australia as a Financial Accountant and help deliver accurate, timely group financial reporting, stronger financial controls, compliance, and ongoing improvement of our finance function.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with site-based and remote teams to ensure consistent reporting processes and financials are in place.
- Support the development of reporting automation and process improvement initiatives in conjunction with the Finance Managers and the Business Analysis team.
- Review the financial reporting processes and internal controls throughout the business.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures, SOX, and external audit requirements.
- Support the planning and delivery of the national group reporting.
- Coordinate the month-end reporting processes (journal preparation and balance sheet reconciliations).
- Prepare and deliver corporate reporting and business analysis as required, accurately and on time.
- Champion the continuous improvement initiatives that improve efficiency, accuracy and business performance.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills
- 5 + years of experience in financial reporting, audit, internal controls or a related accounting function.
- Experience working in a SOX environment.
- Previous experience in a Big 4 or mid-tier accounting firm is a major asset.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Proven ability to work effectively as part of a distributed team.
- Highly developed organisational and time management skills.
- CA or CPA qualification (current membership preferred).
