- Translate annual and multi-year direction into objectives, initiatives, milestones, dependencies, resource requirements and outcome measures.
- Maintain an integrated view of plans, capacity, dependencies and progress across projects, products, operational work, improvement activity and change initiatives.
- Manage intake of new demand and assess value, urgency, risk, dependencies, readiness and available capacity.
- Align cross-team execution plans and critical dependencies, resolving or escalating issues that threaten progress.
Support Priority and Resource Decisions
- Develop options and recommendations to start, pause, sequence or stop work based on strategic fit, value, urgency, risk, dependencies and capacity.
- Make demand and internal or external delivery capacity visible, including resource allocation, capability gaps, over-commitment and delivery consequences.
- Partner with Finance and stakeholders to prepare investment information, planning assumptions, resource scenarios and portfolio budget views.
- Decide execution sequencing and resource allocation within delegated authority, and escalate significant priority, funding or cross-functional resource conflicts.
Establish Performance and Executive Visibility

- Connect initiatives to expected outcomes and benefit measures, track results after launch and recommend improvement where needed.
- Provide concise reporting on progress, portfolio health, capacity, risk, financial implications and decisions required.
- Use performance data to improve planning assumptions, governance, resource allocation and management cadence.
Lead Critical Programmes and Build Planning Capability
- Lead execution directly for selected high-priority, complex or cross-functional programmes where needed.
- Manage milestones, critical path, stakeholder alignment, dependencies, risks and implementation readiness for those programmes.
- Support portfolio and project leads to strengthen outcome ownership, decision-making, stakeholder management and autonomous execution.
- Establish planning definitions, templates, decision cadences, standards and knowledge assets that improve consistency without unnecessary bureaucracy.
COMPETENCIES AND EXPERIENCES
- Relevant experience in business planning, portfolio management, programme management, strategy execution, transformation or a comparable field. A Senior Manager appointment will typically require 6+ years of relevant experience; equivalent experience appropriate to the scope may be accepted for a Manager appointment.

- Experience leading complex cross-functional programmes and coordinating business, technology, Finance, regional or global teams and external partners.
- Experience linking initiatives to budgets, capacity, business outcomes, benefits and performance measures.
- Ability to structure ambiguity and present concise options, trade-offs, recommendations and decisions required to senior leaders.
- Ability to advance cross-team execution through facilitation, constructive challenge, negotiation and coaching.
- Practical experience with Jira, Confluence, demand-management tools or portfolio-planning tools is preferred.
- Experience in an organisation involving global, regional and local stakeholders is preferred.
- Business-level English and native-level Japanese.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent education or practical experience.
