Specialist Regional OHS Area 1

The overall purpose and objective of the position is to :

- Manage the health and safety of all employees based in The Americas (Area 1).
- Initiate, control, organize and monitor all necessary actions and processes related to occupational health and safety in Area1.
- Ensure regulatory compliance of all stations in Area 1.
- Implement the Occupational Health and Safety Management system (OHSMS) in Area 1.
- Provide the necessary health and safety advice, risk assessment, guidance and recommendation throughout the organization to enable the successful implementation of the OHSMS and limit the risks of accidents.
- Develop the culture of psychosocial risks.
- Carry out occurrence investigations, determine the root causes and make effective recommendations in order to prevent a re-occurrence.
- Be the primary point of contact with local authorities for all matters related to health and safety.
- Provide all required health and safety support, guidance and recommendation in due time to the crisis management team in order to minimize the impact for all persons involved in our activities.
- Realise administrative tasks in collaboration with the HR department.

Essential Requirements For The Position:

- Master Degree in OHS or similar ( Relevant academic background can be considered in lieu of professional experience)
- At least 5-10 years work experience in a Health & Safety department or related field (eg. risk area)
- Strong knowledge of safety management principles and ISO 45001 standard
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
- Strong knowledge in mental health and Psychosocial Risk
- Experience in aviation is considered as an advantage or ISO 45003 standard
- Inquisitive and a good listener, maintain impartiality, able to handle confidential matters
- Ability to empathize and know your audience
- Feeling comfortable to work in a team (remote and onsite) as well as autonomously
- Methodical and organized way of working (project management skills)
- Collection of factual data
- Dealing effectively with complexity and having good problem-solving skills
- Strong PC knowledge (MS Office and Outlook) and learning capabilities
- Ability to work with international teams and across timezones

Working Conditions

- Position based in Huston
- Travel required (20 to 40%)
- A Certificate of good conduct will be required in case of positive selection
- Annual salary ranging from 75000USD to 90000USD on 12 months based on experience and skills
