Pay Rate: £12.71 per hour
Pay Frequency: Monthly
Shift Pattern: 4 on / 4 off – rotating days and nights
Job Opportunity – Security Officer
We are currently recruiting a professional and reliable Security Officer to join our team at a site based in York.
The successful candidate will be based primarily in reception, providing a professional and welcoming presence while maintaining the security and safety of the premises.
This is an important security role requiring a high level of responsibility, attention to detail and a proactive approach to site security.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a professional and welcoming presence at reception.
- Manage site access control, ensuring only authorised personnel and visitors enter the premises.
- Carry out essential site lock-up and unlock procedures at the required times.
- Ensure all doors, access points and security systems are correctly secured or activated during lock-up.
- Conduct regular security patrols and site inspections.
- Monitor CCTV and respond to security alarms and incidents.
- Maintain accurate visitor records, incident reports and daily logs.
- Respond promptly and professionally to emergencies and security concerns.
- Follow all site security procedures and company policies.
Shift Pattern & Hours
- 4 days on / 4 days off rotation.
- Rotating between day and night shifts.
- Day shifts: 05:30 – 17:30
- Night shifts: 17:30 – 05:30
- Applicants must be fully flexible and able to work both day and night shifts.
Pay & Benefits
- £12.71 per hour.
- Paid monthly.
- Consistent 4 on / 4 off shift pattern.
Essential Requirements
- A valid SIA Security Licence.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- A professional, reliable and responsible attitude.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good attention to detail and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Full flexibility to work both day and night shifts.
- Ability to carry out important site lock-up and unlock procedures accurately and responsibly.
