About this role
About the role
We are looking for a Finance Intern to join our Finance team and support the day-to-day running of the accounts payable cycle. Beyond A/P, you will help us review and automate finance processes and get hands-on exposure to other areas of the department, including Financial Controlling where needed.
It is a practical, learning-focused role: you will own real tasks from day one, work closely with experienced finance professionals, and see how a finance function operates end to end.
Key responsibilities
Accounts payable cycle
- Receive, check and register supplier invoices in the ERP, ensuring correct coding (accounts, cost centres, VAT, departments)
- Coordinate invoice approvals with budget owners across the business
- Prepare payment proposals and support weekly payment runs
- Maintain supplier master data and support new vendor onboarding
- Reconcile supplier statements and answer supplier queries
- Support A/P tasks during month-end close (accruals, open-items review, aging reports)
Payments and bank reconciliations
- Prepare and upload payment batches in online banking, and check them against approved invoices before release
- Record payments in the ERP and apply them to the correct supplier invoices
- Perform regular bank reconciliations, matching bank movements to ERP entries
- Investigate and resolve unreconciled items, bank fees and unidentified transactions
- Support daily cash position updates and cash flow reporting
Process review and automation
- Map current finance processes and identify manual, repetitive or error-prone steps
- Propose and help implement improvements and automations (ERP workflows, Excel/Google Sheets models, scripts or AI tools)
- Help document processes and keep procedures and checklists up to date
- Track the impact of changes (time saved, fewer errors, faster close)
Shadowing other areas of finance
- Shadow the Financial Controlling team on month-end close, reporting, budgeting and forecasting
- Gain exposure to cash management, treasury and cash flow reporting
- Support analyses and reports where useful, building a broad view of how the finance function works
Other ad-hoc tasks
- Support audits and data requests from internal and external stakeholders
- Help with ad-hoc analyses, reconciliations and projects as business needs arise
What we're looking for
Requirements
- Currently studying, or recently graduated in, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics or a related field
- Basic understanding of accounting principles (double entry, invoices, VAT)
- Good Excel or Google Sheets skills (formulas, pivot tables, lookups)
- Fluent English; Spanish is a plus
- Detail-oriented, organised and comfortable handling deadlines
- Curious, proactive and keen to improve how things are done
Nice to have
- Experience with an ERP system (preferably NetSuite)
- Interest in automation and data tools (mainly AI tools)
- Previous internship or experience in a finance or accounting team
What you'll gain
- Hands-on experience across the full A/P cycle in a real finance team
- Exposure to Financial Controlling, reporting and cash management
- The chance to design and ship process improvements with visible impact
- Mentoring from experienced finance professionals
** Applications must be submitted in English to be considered
