About this role

About the role
In this role you will be part of the Nexperia Business Group (BG) IC Solutions Logic development team, you will take ownership of the technical requirements for logic families, switch families and the development of a complete sets of end products. You are expected to have detailed understanding of CMOS or BCD technology, IC design and analog IC design tools (Cadence or Synopsys) as well as plastic package technology and its assembly process.

What you will do

Your mission is to develop and release products, which are combinations of integrated circuits and plastic packages that can be produced and tested at high volumes at the lowest possible cost. These products meet all datasheet specifications, customer requirements, industry standards and quality requirements.

During the study, concept, design, validation and qualification phase of each project, you will be the technical lead of a cross-functional team of design engineering, product engineering, test engineering and product quality engineering.

You will drive full chip design, family specifications setting and verification while having the ownership of the top-level layout fit for all required packages.

You will make key contributions to the selection process for the cost-effective technology and the required technology options and available devices, by demonstrating the suitability of the technology for the development of new logic families and die shrink/redesign with existing logic families. During this study phase, you will be closely working together with technical leads of the front-end and back-end team to assess different technology variants, make proposals and select best capable technology for the long term roadmap.

You will develop new circuit techniques and implement these in circuit blocks. Together with ESD experts, you will decide on the ESD strategy and integration of the ESD components.

Besides this you will work on:

- Technology assessment and selection in 350nm to 110nm feature size CMOS and BCD wafer processes.
- Develop products in a wide range of plastic packages with Cu-wire bond wiring.
- Develop logic families and switch families very wide operating voltages, ranging from 0.6V to 15V.
- Design integrated circuits with automotive quality requirements with operating range of -40C to 125C.
- Introduce circuit techniques for new functions features at very low and medium voltages.
- Develop family specific I/O cells and ESD cells optimized for area and performance.
- Designing the physical integrated circuits and dies fitting for the range of 4-pins to 24 pins plastic packages.

What you will need

- Master’s degree in electrical engineering.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in semiconductor industry and circuit design.
- Deep understanding of semiconductor device physics and device characteristics.
- Experienced with standard CMOS or BCD technologies.
- Own knowledge and experience with ESD mechanisms and ESD circuit protection techniques.
- Very experienced analog EDA tools and simulations techniques.
- Hand-on experience with characterization and lab equipment.
- Good communication skills in English, both written and spoken.

Why work for us?

- Flexible working hours and possibility of overtime reduction to maintain a Work-Life-Balance.
- Permanent employment contract with a competitive salary and supplementary voluntary employee benefits.
- Attractive Bonus.
- A wide variety of training courses and career development options.
- Numerous further benefits, such as retirement provisions, travel allowance, company events, sports and leisure activities, employee discounts and even more.

About the team

You will come to work in a larger team of IC Design Engineers and ESD experts as your direct colleagues, all closely working together in the Nijmegen location of Nexperia. The team is divided into three products groups, which are Standard Logic and Switches, Voltage Translators and I2C controlled GPIO and Switches and eFuse power switches.

The focus of your job will be Logic and Switch families. For your role you will have highly advanced design tools at your disposal to perform design and simulations yourself. The design and layout of circuits are done with tools of world leading EDA vendors. The design groups work closely together with the Front End and Back End technology teams in Nijmegen for the development of integrated circuits and packages.
