Teacher - Computer Science and AI - Muna British Academy - AY27/28

Muna British Academy is seeking an outstanding Teacher of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence, commencing in the 2027/28 academic year, who can inspire computational thinking, nurture creativity and develop confident programmers. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to our ambitious Key Stage 3 Computing and AI curriculum and the introduction of Pearson Edexcel GCSE or International GCSE Computer Science, with progression towards A-Level study as our secondary school expands.

We are looking for a passionate subject specialist who combines strong programming skills with an understanding of artificial intelligence and the ability to make algorithms, computer systems and networks accessible and engaging. Through clear modelling, practical challenges and skilful adaptation, you will support students in designing, testing and refining solutions with increasing independence. You will also develop students’ AI literacy, critical evaluation skills and understanding of responsible technology use.

Beyond the classroom, you will enrich students’ experiences through coding and AI clubs, STEM projects, robotics and computing competitions, connecting learning with sustainability, innovation and future careers. REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computing, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, Data Science or a directly related subject, with a PGCE or other recognised teaching qualification.

Minimum Experience

- Minimum of two years’ teaching experience delivering the English National Curriculum.

- Previous experience working with students for whom English is not their first language.

Job Specific Knowledge & Skills

- Strong subject knowledge in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence, including programming, algorithms, data representation, computer systems and machine learning.

- Proficiency in Python 3 and the ability to teach programming concepts effectively across different ability levels.

- Knowledge of Pearson Edexcel GCSE or International GCSE Computer Science specifications and assessment requirements.

- Understanding of AI literacy, responsible AI use, digital citizenship, cybersecurity, online safety and data privacy.

- Ability to design and deliver engaging, inclusive and appropriately challenging Computing and AI lessons.

- Awareness of ADEK AI curriculum expectations and the ability to integrate AI learning into classroom practice.

- Passion for teaching and commitment to educating the whole child.

- Strong classroom management, assessment and communication skills.

- A high level of professionalism and consideration for the wellbeing of children.

- Recent and consistent involvement in extracurricular activities.

- Respect for all members of the school community, irrespective of position, gender, age or ethnic background.

- A positive, proactive and solution-focused attitude to working life.

- A clean enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check or equivalent police clearance.
