About this role

Assistant Project Manager (KPI's & Performance)

Location: Derby, Manchester or Warrington (Hybrid)

Salary Range: £42,000.00 - £55,150.00

Our mission is to deliver clean, affordable energy for all. Our Small Modular Reactor (SMR) provides a British solution to a global energy challenge. We are in a unique position to become a global leader in SMR technology and the UK's premier clean energy export.

The Programme Directorate sits at the heart of delivering our SMR programme. Working across complex engineering, regulatory, procurement and construction activities, the team drives collaboration, innovation and delivery to help bring a new generation of nuclear power to life.

In this context, we are looking for an Assistant Project Manager to lead the coordination and performance management of key programme KPIs across our SMR programme. This is an exciting opportunity to play a direct role in one of the UK's most ambitious engineering programmes, helping teams understand, achieve and continuously improve against the measures that drive successful delivery. Success in this role will depend on your ability to build strong relationships, influence stakeholders and create accountability across the programme to achieve performance targets.

We'll need you to:

- Support the development, management and reporting of key programme KPIs to ensure performance is accurately measured and understood across the programme
- Partner with teams and delivery partners to drive KPI performance and build strong relationships that support delivery expectations.
- Monitor KPI performance, trends, risks, issues and opportunities, ensuring appropriate mitigation and escalation where required
- Collaborate with engineering, commercial, procurement, supply chain and regulatory stakeholders to drive performance improvements and successful programme outcomes
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, lessons learned and the development of programme performance management best practice

As you can see, this is a varied and high-profile role where you'll bring strong organisational skills, a collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively across a broad range of stakeholders. Success in this role will depend on your ability to influence, challenge constructively and build excellent working relationships to drive performance improvements across the programme.

We're particularly interested in hearing from people with:

- A recognised project management qualification, such as APM PMQ, or equivalent practical experience
- Experience supporting or delivering projects within engineering, infrastructure, energy, construction or other highly regulated environments
- Experience developing, monitoring and reporting performance measures, KPIs or project controls metrics
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to establish credibility, influence outcomes and build effective relationships at all levels of the organisation
- The confidence to hold teams accountable, facilitate performance discussions and drive actions through to completion
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with excellent attention to detail

Location

We offer hybrid working arrangements and expect regular attendance at one of our Rolls-Royce SMR locations in either Manchester, Derby or Warrington. Occasional travel may be required to support project and stakeholder activities.

What's in it for you?

- A base salary between £42,000.00 - £55,150.00
