The six-story hotel sits nestled in the historic Fan District, a former bohemian enclave where charming, Italianate boulevards read like a pastiched European hangover. Shenandoah Mansions adorns the charms and intellects of the old world, whilst remaining refreshingly American. With 73 guest rooms, including 4 opulent suites, a mystical bar, an elegant restaurant, daily cafe and an on-site retail store, Shenandoah Mansions is an ode to the matriarchs and the grande dames — to witchcraft and fantasy, ghosts and fever dreams. With hidden nooks and corners, there are secrets to uncover within these palatial halls.

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated, reliable, and detail-oriented Part-Time Room Attendant who takes pride in creating a welcoming and beautifully maintained environment for our guests.

What you'll do

- Clean, service, and maintain guest rooms, including changing linens, making beds, sanitizing bathrooms, dusting, vacuuming, and removing trash in accordance with ASH Hotels' standards.
- Prepare guest rooms for arrivals, ensuring each space is clean, inviting, and thoughtfully presented.
- Replenish guest amenities, linens, towels, and supplies according to established standards.
- Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests, ensuring a positive and memorable experience.
- Maintain cleanliness of public areas, corridors, and back-of-house spaces as assigned.
- Keep housekeeping closets, storage areas, and equipment organized, clean, and properly stocked.
- Use cleaning products, supplies, and equipment safely and responsibly.
- Report maintenance concerns, damaged furnishings, and safety hazards to Housekeeping leadership.
- Respect guest privacy, confidentiality, and security at all times.
- Follow established safety, sanitation, and security procedures.
- Communicate room status updates and guest needs to Housekeeping leadership and other departments as necessary.
- Assist fellow team members to ensure rooms are prepared efficiently and hotel standards are consistently maintained.
- Perform additional housekeeping-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

- A genuine passion for hospitality and providing exceptional guest experiences.
- Extraordinary attention to detail and pride in maintaining clean, beautifully presented guest rooms.
- Previous housekeeping experience in a hotel or hospitality environment preferred.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining productivity and quality.
- A positive, approachable, and team-oriented attitude.
- Excellent communication and listening skills.
- Ability to respond professionally and courteously to guest requests and concerns.
- Strong commitment to guest privacy, safety, and security.
- Ability to remain flexible and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays.

- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, and perform repetitive movements for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to push and maneuver housekeeping carts and equipment.
- Manual dexterity to operate cleaning equipment and handle guest room supplies.
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.

COMPENSATION DETAILS

- Position: Full-Time Room Attendant
- Location: Shenandoah Mansions – Richmond, VA
- Expected Hours: 25–40 hours per week
- Hourly Pay: $16-$17
