About this role

Deliver critical infrastructure projects that keep our network safe and resilient

As our Project Supervisor , you'll play a key role in delivering investment projects that support the safe and reliable operation of Cadent's gas network. This isn't just about managing projects or overseeing contractors in the field, it's about taking ownership of schemes from concept through to completion, ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.

This is a permanent role within our Capital Delivery team, supporting projects across the West Midlands network. You'll split your time between sites, depots and home, working closely with operational teams, engineers, contractors and stakeholders to coordinate project activity, manage delivery risks and ensure successful outcomes.

With significant investment planned across pressure reduction sites and replacement programmes, you'll have the opportunity to manage projects through the full lifecycle, from design and planning through to construction, commissioning and handover.

Why you'll love this role:

- Critical Infrastructure Investment – Support the delivery of Above Ground Installation and Pressure Reduction Station replacement programmes that are essential to the future performance of our network.

- Safety & Compliance Leadership – Champion compliance with Safe Control of Operations, Construction Design and Management requirements, G17 processes and company standards.

- Site Leadership – Act as Cadent's representative on site, overseeing contractors and ensuring work is delivered safely and efficiently.

- Commercial Oversight – Monitor project spend, manage budgets and ensure value-for-money delivery.

- Stakeholder Collaboration – Work closely with Operational Performance, Engineering, Commercial, Procurement and delivery partners.

- Variety & Development – Gain exposure to design, planning, construction, commissioning and project management activities across a diverse portfolio of work.

What you'll bring:

- Operational or Project Experience – Experience within operational gas, utilities, engineering, infrastructure or project delivery environments.

- Project Management Capability – Ability to plan, coordinate and deliver projects through multiple phases of delivery.

- Infrastructure Knowledge – Experience with pressure reduction assets, operational sites or similar infrastructure would be advantageous.

- Site Supervision Experience – Confidence overseeing construction activities and ensuring works are delivered safely and compliantly.

- Commercial Awareness – Understanding of project costs, budgets and contractor performance management.

- Safety & Compliance Knowledge – Strong appreciation of health and safety requirements, risk management principles and safe systems of work.

- Stakeholder Management – Ability to build positive relationships with internal teams, contractors and external stakeholders.

- Problem-Solving Skills – Confidence making decisions and overcoming challenges in both operational and project environments.

Qualifications:

- HNC, SNVQ, NVQ or equivalent operational experience in network engineering techniques supported by relevant qualifications.

- IOSH qualification.

- Safe Control of Operations Authorising Engineer and Competent Person certification (desirable).

- Full UK driving licence.

A company car is provided and, as regular travel is required across the network, a full UK driving licence is essential.
