Development Property Adjuster
### Job Location: UK wide
Job Type: Permanent, full time
Remuneration: Competitive salary taking into account skills, experience and qualifications
Solve problems. Help people. Build a career you’ll be proud of, and become a Development Property Adjuster
You may not know exactly what a Loss Adjuster does yet, and that’s absolutely fine. If you’re great with people, enjoy solving problems and can step up when it matters, this could be the start of a career you may never have considered.
As a Development Property Adjuster, you’ll help customers find a way forward when their home or business has been affected by events such as storms, fires or other unexpected damage. You’ll meet customers face to face, understand what has happened, investigate their claim and gather information before helping to identify the right solution. It’s about combining good judgement and practical problem-solving with empathy and reassurance when customers need it most.
This isn’t a desk-bound role. One day you could be visiting a storm-damaged property and the next working with experts to agree how a fire-damaged building should be repaired. You’ll spend time out with customers alongside working flexibly from home and your local office, giving you plenty of variety and the opportunity to take real ownership of your work.
You don’t need previous loss adjusting or insurance experience to get started. Whether you’re a graduate beginning your career or you’ve built your skills in another customer-focused industry, we’ll support you through structured training, mentoring and fully funded professional qualifications. You’ll learn from experienced colleagues, build your technical expertise and develop the confidence to become a trusted Loss adjuster with a rewarding long-term career ahead of you.
There are opportunities in our home claims, commercial property and agricultural teams.
The skills you will have when you apply:
- Full UK driving licence: You’ll need to hold a full UK driving licence at the point of application, as travelling to meet customers and visit properties is an important part of the role.
- People skills: You genuinely care about helping others and can approach customers with empathy, patience and professionalism, particularly when they may be dealing with a difficult situation.
- Communication: You’re comfortable speaking with different people, asking the right questions, listening carefully and explaining things clearly.
- Problem-solving: You enjoy getting to the root of a problem, weighing up information and finding practical solutions.
- Relationship building: You can establish trust and work collaboratively.
- Ownership and initiative: You’re comfortable taking responsibility, using your judgement and taking action to keep things moving.
- Resilience: You can remain calm and positive when situations are challenging and are motivated to see things through to the right outcome.
- Curiosity and ambition: You’re keen to learn, open to feedback and excited by the opportunity to develop new technical and professional skills.
