Job Description

Join Teledyne Relays in a high-impact leadership role at the center of Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing. As Engineering Document Control Manager, you will lead the people, systems, and processes that turn critical technical information into accurate, secure, and actionable records. Your work will directly support product quality, customer confidence, regulatory compliance and faster NPI execution across the full product lifecycle—from design and qualification through production and long-term support.

You will have the visibility and influence to modernize document control, introduce smart digital workflows, and build a team recognized as a trusted business partner. If you enjoy bringing order to complexity, developing people, and creating improvements that scale, this role offers the opportunity to make a lasting impact in a regulated aerospace and defense environment.

What You Will Lead

- Build, coach, and inspire a high-performing document control team with clear priorities, strong service standards and a culture of accountability and continuous learning.
- Own the document control strategy and roadmap, aligning policies, procedures, workflows, and technology with business and customer needs.
- Modernize and optimize ERP, PLM and related integrations to improve usability, visibility, accuracy and speed.
- Ensure accurate, timely processing of engineering change requests (ECRs), engineering change notices (ECNs), drawings, specifications, procedures, bills of material and associated records.
- Create efficient, user-friendly processes for document review, approval, release, distribution, retention, archival and disposition.
- Maintain alignment with company procedures, customer and contractual requirements, and applicable standards and regulations, including AS9100 and ITAR.
- Serve as a trusted leader during internal, customer, and regulatory audits by ensuring records are complete, accurate, accessible and audit-ready.
- Partner across Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Program Management, and other functions so released documentation accurately reflects product and process changes.
- Champion process automation, standardization, and practical digital solutions that reduce manual effort, eliminate bottlenecks and improve responsiveness.
- Equip employees with clear training, tools, and resources that make compliant document practices easier to understand and follow.
- Represent document control in company-wide quality, configuration management, digital transformation and operational excellence initiatives.

Leadership Impact

- Lead with clarity, inclusion and a hands-on commitment to helping people do their best work.
- Set meaningful goals, provide timely coaching and recognition and create individualized development opportunities.
- Plan resources, balance priorities, strengthen team capability and connect day-to-day work to broader business objectives.

What You Bring

Education

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Information Management, or a related field is preferred.
- Equivalent education, specialized training, and directly relevant experience are welcomed and will be considered.

Experience

- Typically 5 or more years of progressive experience in document control, configuration management, quality systems, engineering administration, or a closely related discipline.
- Typically 2 or more years of people leadership, team leadership, or supervisory experience, with evidence of building capability and improving performance.
- Practical knowledge of engineering change management and quality management systems such as AS9100 or ISO 9001.
- Experience using and improving ERP, PLM, EDMS, or comparable platforms.
- Experience in aerospace, defense, or other regulated industry is strongly valued.

Skills That Will Help You Succeed

- Clear understanding of engineering drawings, specifications, bills of material, document lifecycles, and configuration management principles.
- Ability to turn complex regulatory and quality requirements into clear, practical, and scalable processes.
- A collaborative leadership style that builds trust, accountability, and productive partnerships across technical and operational teams.
- Strong organizational, project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- A continuous-improvement mindset, curiosity about emerging technology, and enthusiasm for simplifying the way work gets done.
- Sound judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-moving environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and the ability to quickly learn, administer, and improve document management technology.

Build Your Career Here

This is more than a role focused on maintaining records—it is a platform for growth. You will gain visibility across the entire product lifecycle and work alongside leaders in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Management. As you deliver results, you can expand your scope by leading enterprise-wide improvements, shaping configuration-management standards, implementing new digital capabilities, and developing larger or more specialized teams. Potential career paths may include senior leadership opportunities in Document Control, Configuration Management, Quality Systems, Engineering Operations, Compliance, Digital Transformation, or Operational Excellence. Growth will be encouraged through mentoring, stretch assignments, cross-functional projects, professional training and certifications, and increasing ownership of high-value initiatives. Advancement will be based on demonstrated impact, readiness, and evolving business opportunities.

Work Environment
