ABOUT THE ROLE

Amsted Automotive's TransForm Automotive Shelby Twp division, is is looking for Maintenance Technician Assistants, 3rd shift 11pm - 7am + 15% shift premium, who will be responsible for assisting the Maintenance Technician in machine maintenance, building maintenance and general maintenance functions as directed.

As a Maintenance Technician Assistant, you'll work alongside experienced maintenance professionals to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain equipment that powers our manufacturing facility. WHAT YOULL DO

- Learn and assist in maintaining the equipment that keeps our manufacturing operation running.

- Work alongside experienced Maintenance Technicians to troubleshoot and repair machinery and facility systems.

- Complete preventive maintenance tasks to help improve equipment performance and reliability.

- Assist with press setups, machine adjustments, and continuous improvement projects.

- Operate forklifts and man lifts safely after receiving appropriate training.

- Follow all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout practices.

- Document maintenance activities using work orders and maintenance systems.

- Support Lean Manufacturing initiatives and help identify ways to improve efficiency.

- Work closely with production and maintenance teams to meet plant goals.

- Take on new challenges and develop valuable hands-on maintenance skills in a manufacturing environment.

WHAT YOULL NEED TO SUCCEED

- High school diploma or GED required

- Some college is preferred, or education in the skilled trades, or pursuit of coursework in mechanical, industrial, or electrical Maintenance

- 2 years of experience in Plant Maintenance desired

- Some knowledge of stamping presses, conveyors, CNCs, washers, assembly machines, various automation and related machinery

- Must be mechanically inclined and have a desire to work on machinery and related equipment

- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and related programs

- Possess working knowledge of IATF16949, ISO 14001, and Q1 compliance criteria

What you need to succeed

- Must be able to work with minimum supervision

- Excellent manual dexterity with the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds frequently

- Work may require extended periods of sitting, standing, lifting, bending, stooping and performing repetitive motion tasks

- Occasionally ascends/descends a ladder to service the lights and ceiling fans

- Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with continuous exposure to noise

- Must be able to work necessary overtime if required
