About this role

What is the role?As a Lead Engineering Consultant at Nimble, you will play a vital role in building high-quality digital products and services. You will work within multidisciplinary, agile delivery teams to foster a culture of sustainable engineering. Your work will involve bringing your broad technical leadership experience to help solve complex problems, bridge the gap between business requirements and technical execution, and build solutions that truly make a difference for our clients and their end users. What you’ll doWe work in collaborative, supportive teams, and we are looking for someone who contributes to a culture of mutual support and continuous learning. Your primary responsibilities will include:Technical Leadership & Delivery: Work alongside your team to clarify requirements, shape architecture, and move features from concept to production. You’ll focus on understanding the business problem to ensure the technical solution delivers genuine value, working closely with clients to outline the best approach for them, not just rinse-and-repeat.Holistic Quality: Think in complete, sustainable solutions. You help evaluate "quality" against the client's reality - balancing long-term maintenance, performance, scalability, and pragmatic testing to ensure success.Engineering Excellence: Drive engineering practices across a range of environments, from modern cloud-native apps to legacy systems. You focus on mentoring engineers and finding the right solution that fits the client's specific needs and constraints.AI-Supported Engineering: Integrate AI tooling (such as Claude, Copilot, or Cursor) into your daily workflow to assist with prototyping, accelerate your work, and help explore complex codebases.Consulting & Leadership: Guide clients and teams through uncertainty. You bring a calm, steady approach to project environments, helping to provide clarity and facilitate shared progress. What you bringTechnical Leadership & Consulting Mindset: An ability to build trust, lead technical discussions, navigate ambiguity, and maintain a thoughtful approach when requirements or environments shift. A strong background in Javascript/Typescript is desired.Solution Shaping: Experience in designing solutions that align with the problem at hand. You bring a solid understanding of modern architectural patterns, including Infrastructure as Code (IaC), containerized systems, and cloud platforms and serverless architectures (Azure experience preferred, although solid experience with AWS or GCP will be considered).Curiosity & Continuous Learning: A genuine interest in learning and growth. We value different technical backgrounds and view different languages, legacy systems, and modern front-end frameworks (like React, Vue, or Angular) as tools to solve problems. Whilst we don’t expect you to be an expert in everything, we look for a willingness to pick things up as the project demands.AI Tooling: Hands-on experience using AI coding assistants and LLMs to assist with the development lifecycle. We understand that your career path might look different from ours. We value the diverse paths that lead to the skills we need. Research shows that many talented people only apply when they meet every requirement. If this role excites you and your experience is broadly aligned, we'd still love to hear from you.Who we areNimble Approach is a human-centric, collaborative consultancy delivering Product, Technology, Data, and AI solutions with an equity-first mindset.
