APPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Design precision assembly and measurement processes for Apple products. Design, implement and scale automated and semi- automated solutions based upon sound engineering principles and the technologies developed for a specific application. Develop new and improved processes through the application of theoretical and practical engineering. Provide direction and mentorship to third party machine/automation suppliers and/or CM's. Create Request for Quotation/Proposal (RFQ/RFPs) that documents the design requirements of the automated equipment, delivery schedule, required documentation and qualification for acceptance at machine supplier facility and contract manufacturer's factory. Engage machine suppliers for automated equipment design reviews and proposals. Travel to the machine supplier and contract manufacturer for equipment bring-up, qualification, acceptance testing and support during build events. Drive machine qualifications including correlation, process capability (CP/CPK) and Gage Repeatability/ Reproducibility (GR&R). Drive failure analysis and machine issue resolution when working with machine suppliers and contract manufacturers. Responsible for data analysis reports to communicate machine capability to the multifunctional team. International Travel Required 25%. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $142,443 - $201,600/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mechatronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field and 3 years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
Experience and/or education must include:
Enabling new process development for the manufacturing and testing of complex high precision assemblies.
Creating requests for proposal/quote (RFP/RFQ) for automated manufacturing equipment consisting of robotics (6-axis, SCARA, gantry), pneumatics, motion controllers, PLC and PC based control systems, machine vision, dispense, and other related systems.
Utilizing automation equipment design for high volume assembly lines.
Performing machine qualification through data analysis, process capability (cp/cpk), gauge repeatability & reproducibility (GR&R).
Developing and scaling of robotic pick and place, dispense, leak testing, and other related manufacturing processes.
Developing machine vision for automated assembly and inspection of parts.
Working with suppliers for automation equipment bring-up, qualification, and acceptance testing of automated manufacturing equipment.
