Lending Operations Specialist

Maine State Credit Union is seeking a detail-oriented and service-focused Lending Operations Specialist to join our Lending Operations Team. In this role, you'll play a critical part in ensuring consumer loans are accurately booked, maintained, and serviced while providing exceptional support to members and internal teams.

As a Lending Operations Specialist , you'll work behind the scenes to support the loan process from funding through payoff. You'll review loan documentation, perform quality assurance reviews, maintain loan records, monitor collateral documentation, and help ensure compliance with credit union policies and regulatory requirements.

Position Summary

The Lending Operations Specialist performs a variety of consumer loan servicing and operational functions, including loan boarding, quality assurance reviews, file maintenance, payoff processing, collateral tracking, and compliance support. This role works closely with members, vendors, and internal departments to ensure loan records are accurate, requests are handled timely, and the Credit Union's interests are protected.

What You'll Do

- Assist members, employees, and third parties with loan servicing requests and resolve loan-related issues professionally and efficiently.

- Set up, fund, and maintain consumer loans while ensuring accurate loan records and payment setup.

- Process loan payoffs, payment corrections, file maintenance, loan research, and related servicing activities.

- Monitor collateral documentation, including titles, UCC filings, insurance claims, and lien releases.

- Perform quality assurance and compliance reviews on new and modified consumer loans.

- Support audits, ancillary product claims, and process improvement initiatives within Lending Operations.

Qualifications

What You Bring

- 1-3 years of loan servicing, lending operations, banking, credit union, or related financial institution experience.

- High school diploma or GED required.

- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.

- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt in a fast-paced environment.

- Effective verbal and written communication skills with a member-first mindset.

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality.

The pay range for this position is $20/hr - $24/hr based on experience.
