Job Title: Traffic and Customs Coordinator Job Description
The Traffic and Customs Coordinator is responsible for ensuring compliance with all transportation-related activities to make products available to customers. This includes planning, handling, and following up on incoming international shipments, serving clients in remote regions, addressing special requests, managing in-transit delays, and responding to various queries via email.
Responsibilities
- Organize all non-standard transport activities, including weekly shipments to remote areas and urgent same-day deliveries.
- Respond to queries from transport companies, follow up on documents for in-transit delays, and initiate corrective actions to prevent product loss during transit.
- Ensure that critical timelines related to seasonal Winter shipments are met using appropriate carriers and risk mitigation strategies.
- Maintain quality standards and serve as a liaison between transport firms and Customer Service.
- Investigate transport issues following customer complaints and document root cause/corrective actions in the database.
- Address and resolve customs-related problems concerning product import/export, liaising with customs brokers and responding to customs-related questions.
- Handle logistics for the export of materials, specimens, and instruments to other countries and affiliates.
- Act as a liaison between external stakeholders, such as brokers and transport companies, and internal stakeholders for inbound and outbound shipments.
- Monitor and respond to inquiries from external and internal parties via the Traffic and Customs generic email.
- Maintain transportation zones in SAP for customer creation processes and create customer specifics in TMS tables when required.
- Handle in-transit temperature abnormalities for inbound shipments and generate reports for quality investigations.
- Maintain non-inventoried shipment activities and department archives according to retention requirements.
- Support Traffic and Customs Specialists with transport invoice audits.
Essential Skills
- DES or equivalent education.
- 2-3 years of experience in the transport and customs environment.
- Bilingual proficiency in French and English.
- Experience with Canadian customs processes, including Harmonized System (HS) code classification and tariff determination.
- Proficiency in Excel.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) certification is an asset.
- Knowledge of SAP is an asset.
- Demonstrated problem-solving ability and effective business judgment.
- Capability to communicate clearly and manage multiple tasks while focusing on details.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to handle ambiguity in a constantly evolving environment.
- Ability to anticipate future consequences of current actions.
- Skilled in utilizing data sources to make informed decisions and optimize customer interactions.
Work Environment
This is an onsite role requiring work at the Laval office five days a week. Proficiency in French and English is necessary for this role.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
