Schedule: Monday - Friday, 2:00pm - 7:00pm
SUMMARY: This position is responsible for performing routine janitorial services at Hospice Savannah and affiliate companies.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
- One (1) or more year(s) of experience preferred.
- Ability to read and comprehend safety material and facility required documents.
- Ability to use motorized equipment.
- Experience using a commercial carpet cleaner preferred.
- Ability to strip and wax floors preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of safety precautions required in performing cleaning work to include: properly measure chemicals that are not provided in dispenser form; understand how to read MSDS sheets; properly label chemicals; wear proper PPE when working with chemicals; etc.
- Ability to interact successfully at all levels of the organization and with the public.
- Minimal computer skills required to include email utilizing Outlook.
- Must have a valid drivers license and clear driving record.
- Must clear a criminal background screening.
- Must be self motivated and have the ability to work independently without constant supervision.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Position requires the ability to lift up to 30 lbs. Must be able to walk or stand for prolonged periods of time. Must be able to walk, stand, climb, kneel, reach, crawl, push, pull and twist the majority of the work day.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This position works a flexible schedule depending on the needs of the organization. The Hospice Inpatient Unit (HIPU) facility must be cleaned seven days a week. To accommodate this, there are alternating weeks of weekend cleaning duties. While performing tasks in patient care areas there may be a risk of exposure to infectious diseases requiring standard safety precautions.
