About this role

Product Manager, Senior
The Opportunity:

G RACE is ARPA-H's AI assistant, and its value depends on how well ARPA puts it to work. We are looking for a startup-minded Product Manager who is also the team's product owner and Scrum Master. You'll own the backlog, run the sprint cadence, write epics and product acceptance criteria, track and report the numbers, and be a main point of contact for the people using G RACE .

You'll work with the G RACE product lead, who sets strategy and epic priority, breaks ties, and makes the final call on sprint scope, releases, and architecture reviews. Engineering owns how things get built. You own getting work ready, keeping each sprint on track, and making sure what ships gets used and works.

This role is ideal for someone who has worked directly with customers or internal teams in high-velocity environments such as startups or big tech, listens more than they talk, and wants to apply practical AI across an enterprise. You'll do this while helping teams understand G RACE 's capabilities and limits within the constraints of our mission and the broader federal environment, including privacy, security, safety, and responsible use by default.

What You'll Work On:

- Turn prioritized epics into a ranked backlog.
- Write user context and product acceptance criteria for every story, and technical acceptance criteria.

- Run a 60-minute grooming session with a hard stop, keep time, and move anything unresolved to a breakout with only the people involved.
- Track open items until they close, co-own the ready check before planning with the lead, and run ceremonies on a fixed schedule.

- Track velocity against capacity, along with carryover, raise trends before anyone asks, and keep meeting load in check.

- Get the right people together, make the call, and tell everyone when requests compete for the same sprint.

- Track usage weekly, including active users, query volume, feature adoption, and retention.
- Pull your own data, write SQL, read logs, and build and maintain dashboards.
- Publish a weekly update covering usage, velocity, carryover, bug burn-down, and what's shipping next.
- Review grooming health and delivery health with engineering every month.

- Triage bugs by severity, take part in every pre-release test huddle, and use G RACE every day the way users do.
- Help define what a good G RACE answer looks like, and contribute test cases to the team's evaluations.
- Serve as the accountable party for release sign-off when no other owner is named, and hold a release if testing, design review, or architecture review was skipped.

- Share customer-facing support with the product lead, by supporting intake, feedback channels, and office hours.
- Run discovery through interviews, usability sessions, and usage data.
- Help lead training and onboarding, including live sessions, release notes, how-to guides, and onboarding for new agency partners.
- Work with design and research to turn findings into epics, then measure what shipped.
- Bring security, compliance and ATO considerations in early, espe cia lly for external agency integrations.
- Communicate roadmap, tradeoffs, and status clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.

Join us. The world can’t wait.

You Have:

- 10+ years of experience in product management or product ownership, including running Scrum ceremonies
- Experience running a grooming process with an enforced Definition of Ready, and showing how it improved delivery
- Experience with an AI or LLM product
- Experience working with data on your own, including SQL, logs, and dashboards
- Experience writing epics, stories, and product acceptance criteria
- Experience reporting on usage, velocity, and defect met rics on a regular cadence
- Experience with customer-facing user training or onboarding
- Ability to make priority calls quickly with input from the people closest to the work
- Bachelor’s degree

Nice If You Have:

- Experience with agentic products, MCP, or multi-agent systems
- Experience in a PM, Scrum Master, and Analyst role
- Experience tracking delivery health met rics such as deployment frequency, lead time, change failure rate, and time to recovery, with an engineering team
- Experience working with UX researchers and designers in a build-measure-learn loop
