About the team and the role

Within eBay Motors' Parts & Accessories (P&A) business, Salvage refers to used vehicle parts, also known as recycled or green parts. This strategic growth area connects automotive recyclers and other sellers with buyers seeking used parts. Scaling it requires coordinated commercial and operational execution across markets, partners, and initiatives.

As Senior Manager, Strategic Initiatives - Salvage, you will lead business planning and operational execution for priority global Salvage initiatives. You will translate strategic priorities into actionable plans, align market and functional teams, and build the operating processes needed to deliver and scale these initiatives.

Reporting to the leader of P&A and EHI Strategy & Operations, you will own integrated business initiative delivery and operational readiness.

What you will accomplish

·    Translate strategy into action. Frame business problems, size opportunities, build business cases, and recommend priorities, investment choices, and success measures in partnership with business leaders.

·    Lead cross-market business initiatives. Build and drive the integrated business plan for Salvage priorities across the US and Europe, including pan-European expansion. Align market sequencing, workstream owners, milestones, and partner commitments.

·    Establish the operating structure. Define ways of working, decision responsibilities, business processes, and handoffs between global teams, local markets, and partners. Create repeatable playbooks that help initiatives scale.

·    Drive commercial and operational readiness. Coordinate seller and partner onboarding, operational enablement, communications, training, and local-market requirements. Bring together the evidence and recommendations needed for business-led launch decisions.

·    Align internal and external partners. Work with Salvage, category and account management, Operations, Product, Marketing, Finance, Analytics, and Trust teams, alongside recyclers and relevant software or service partners, to deliver shared business outcomes.

·    Resolve execution barriers. Identify cross-market dependencies, resource constraints, and delivery risks early. Develop solutions, facilitate decisions, and escalate trade-offs with clear options and recommendations.

·    Measure impact and improve performance. Partner with Finance and Analytics to define baselines and track adoption, supply growth, customer experience, and business impact. Use results and market feedback to refine priorities and execution.

·    Maintain an effective operating cadence. Lead focused initiative reviews and executive updates that make progress, decisions, and next steps clear. Embed lessons learned and improve operating processes as initiatives scale.

What you will bring

·    Operating experience. 6+ years of hands-on experience in business operations, commercial operations, or operational leadership of cross-functional business initiatives, with direct responsibility for implementation, ongoing performance, and measurable business results.

·    Strategic and commercial judgment. Ability to structure ambiguous business problems, evaluate opportunities, develop business cases, and recommend practical trade-offs using customer insights, financial analysis, and performance data.

·    Hands-on execution. Demonstrated experience launching and scaling business initiatives, building and running repeatable operating processes, and improving performance after launch. Ability to lead interconnected workstreams across functions and markets with clear milestones, dependencies, and follow-through.

·    Leadership through influence. Ability to align senior stakeholders, constructively challenge assumptions, resolve competing priorities, and secure commitments from teams that do not report to you.

·    Analytical and communication skills. Ability to turn complex information into clear recommendations and concise executive materials. Strong working proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets and PowerPoint or Google Slides.

·    Education and global collaboration. A bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues across North American and European time zones.

Additional experience that would be valuable

·    Experience in automotive parts, recycling, recommerce, or a two-sided marketplace; category expertise is helpful, not a prerequisite.

·    Experience with partner integrations, market expansion, or commercial and operational change involving both local businesses and shared global teams.

·    Experience improving operating efficiency, seller or partner adoption, and customer outcomes in a growing business.

This role offers the opportunity to build the business capabilities behind a global recycled-parts growth agenda, combining strategic problem-solving with visible, hands-on delivery.
