If youre an experienced automotive parts professional, we want to talk to you. Colonial Chevrolet of Acton is hiring an Assistant Parts Manager to help run the day-to-day operations of our parts department. This is a hands-on role for someone who knows the parts counter, can keep orders and inventory organized, and is ready to take on more responsibility.
What youll do
- Support the Parts Manager with daily operations, workflow, and training for parts department staff.
- Look up, price, and order the right parts for service technicians, the body shop, retail customers, and wholesale accounts.
- Coordinate with service advisors and technicians to prioritize orders, communicate availability, and keep repairs moving.
- Track special orders and backorders, follow up with vendors, and keep customers and internal teams updated.
- Oversee receiving, stocking, and cycle counts. Investigate inventory discrepancies and help manage aging stock.
- Process returns, core credits, and warranty parts. Follow up on outstanding vendor credits.
- Help grow wholesale parts sales by building relationships with local repair shops and following through on orders and quotes.
- Assist with tracking department sales, gross profit, and inventory performance. Lead daily operations when the Parts Manager is away.
What were looking for
- Automotive parts experience and confidence using electronic parts catalogs and inventory systems.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities at a busy parts counter.
- Clear communication with customers, technicians, service advisors, and vendors.
- Dealership or wholesale parts experience preferred. Chevrolet or GM parts experience is a plus.
