About Kubota & Basol LLP

Kubota & Basol LLP (K&B) was founded upon a simple principle: To offer our clients the highest-quality patent legal services while liberating them from the rigid and exorbitant cost structures imposed by large corporate law firms that often lead to rushed and lower-quality work product. Our clients are never forced to decide between high-quality legal counsel or reasonable pricing. At K&B, they can have both.

About the Position

This is a West Coast Hours position (i.e., we expect the candidate's work hours to align with US Pacific Time). The ideal candidate will be located in Los Angeles, and will be able to work in the office. However, we will also consider candidates outside of Los Angeles.

If you are looking to learn about all aspects of patent prosecution, we are for you! Our team is structured in a way that does not limit you to tasks in only one area of patent prosecution--be sure to ask us for more information during our interviews!

We are looking for a patent filing specialist or patent assistant who has at least two years of experience handling various foreign patent prosecution related tasks. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.

The bulk of your responsibilities will revolve around foreign patent filing, including corresponding with foreign associates with respect to foreign Office Actions and foreign patent application filing instructions, PCT filings, national phase filings (e.g., § 371 and otherwise), inventor formal document-related tasks, Form 3 filings, and docket-related tasks.

Some example tasks where experience is preferred include:

-Preparing filing materials for, and filing, PCT applications;

-Corresponding with foreign associates for foreign patent matters (e.g., filing of foreign applications, filing of foreign Office Action responses); and

-Remaining current with, and tracking, relevant docketing deadline for US, foreign and international patent matters.
