About this role
Contingent upon contract award. Full-time, 100% on site at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, Bethesda, MD. Monday–Friday, 0800–1630, with occasional support outside normal duty hours during contingencies or exercises. Public Trust (Tier 2) background check and CAC required.
Claxton Logistics is hiring an Editor to protect the accuracy of everything Walter Reed releases in writing: articles, web content, leadership messages, and staff-authored journal articles and presentations. You will run the editorial calendar, fact-check with clinicians, and check each clearance package before it goes to the Public Affairs Officer.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s in communications, journalism, English or related
- 5+ years of editing, copyediting or technical writing
- Expert grammar and AP Style
- Healthcare or military public affairs experience
- HIPAA/PHI knowledge
- Multi-author calendar management
Preferred Qualifications
- Medical research, policy or doctrine editing
- DoD public release clearance experience
