Do you enjoy being close to the manufacturing process, finding better ways to do things, and seeing your ideas make a real impact on the production floor?

Landscape Forms is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer who enjoys hands-on problem-solving, improving manufacturing processes, and collaborating with the people who bring our products to life. In this role, you'll help drive continuous improvement initiatives while contributing to new product development, equipment investments, and manufacturing projects. You'll have opportunities to apply your technical strengths, solve real production challenges, and make a measurable impact on how our products are manufactured.

From identifying opportunities to reduce waste and improve efficiency to implementing new processes and technologies, you'll play an important role in helping us manufacture high-quality products more effectively.

Our work is driven by three things: Design, Culture, and Craft. We believe the best solutions come from combining innovative thinking, technical expertise, and a collaborative approach to problem-solving.

- Wellness Matters: Access wellness programs designed to support your overall health and well-being.

Work Environment & Schedule

This is a primarily onsite position in Kalamazoo, Michigan, working closely with our manufacturing teams. Our first-shift production schedule runs Monday through Thursday 10 hr. shifts, and many team members choose to align their schedules with production. A traditional Monday through Friday schedule is also available, with some flexibility based on business and team needs.

We're looking for someone who enjoys being connected to manufacturing operations and understands the value of working alongside production teams.

How You'll Contribute

- Drive Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities to improve manufacturing efficiency, reduce waste, enhance quality, and lower costs through Lean principles and practical problem-solving.

- Improve Manufacturing Processes: Work closely with production teams to evaluate workflows, facility layouts, capacity, and manufacturing processes to develop effective, sustainable solutions.

- Lead Manufacturing Projects: Research and evaluate new equipment, tooling, and technologies, managing improvement projects from initial concept and cost justification through implementation.

- Support New Product Development: Collaborate with Product Engineering, Design, and Manufacturing to ensure new products transition successfully into production with efficient, reliable processes.

- Solve Manufacturing Challenges: Partner with production associates, engineers, and suppliers to troubleshoot issues and develop solutions that balance safety, quality, cost, and efficiency.

- Standardize & Sustain Improvements: Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, operator instructions, and best practices to support consistent processes and ongoing improvement.

What You'll Bring

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

- 3+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, process improvement, or a related technical manufacturing role preferred.

- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, with an interest in improving efficiency, quality, and overall production performance.

- Experience identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives, with familiarity in Lean manufacturing principles.

- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and apply practical problem-solving to manufacturing challenges.

- Strong project management and collaboration skills, with a hands-on approach to working alongside production teams.

- Familiarity with SolidWorks or other CAD software.

Additional experience that would be valuable:

- Experience with metal fabrication, welding, or other metalworking processes.

- Experience with capital equipment projects, tooling development, automation, or new product introductions.

- Knowledge of quality tools such as PFMEA, GD&T, or capability studies.

If you're someone who enjoys solving problems, improving processes, and seeing the results of your work firsthand, we'd love to hear from you.
