Civil Project Engineer – Adelaide
We are seeking a Project Engineer to join our South Australian Pavement Rehabilitation & Civil Infrastructure Projects business, based in Underdale.
As part of an experienced project team, you’ll provide engineering support across the planning and delivery of civil construction activities, including technical delivery, project controls, quality, commercial management and stakeholder engagement.
This opportunity would suit an engineer looking to further develop their project delivery experience and build their career within civil construction and infrastructure.
What you’ll do
- Support the planning, coordination and delivery of project works
- Monitor project performance, costs, forecasts and progress against requirements
- Assist with project plans covering safety, quality and environmental requirements
- Identify and manage project risks, opportunities, materials and resources
- Support the procurement and coordination of plant, labour, materials and subcontractors
- Assist with valuations, forecasting, tendering and quoting
- Maintain project records and support quality and compliance requirements
- Build effective relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Actively support Downer’s Zero Harm commitments
What you’ll bring
- A Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent qualification, ideally in Civil Engineering
- Previous engineering experience within civil construction or infrastructure
- Strong project planning, organisational and time-management skills
- Commercial awareness, with exposure to project budgets, forecasting and contracts
- Ability to interpret technical and contractual requirements
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work autonomously while contributing effectively within a project team
- Experience across asphalt, surfacing, paving, roads or specialised pavement works will be highly regarded
