About the Team
We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst to support complex, cross-functional Finance Transformation initiatives centered on Order-to-Cash, including billing, invoicing, collections, revenue recognition, and financial controls, within Workday Financials and related systems.
About the Role
What You'll Do
Lead End-to-End Business Analysis
- Lead business analysis for Order-to-Cash and Finance Transformation programs spanning quoting/order capture, billing, invoicing, collections, cash application, and revenue recognition.
- Facilitate discovery sessions with Finance, Accounting, Revenue, AR/Collections, Tax, and Sales Operations to understand business needs and translate them into actionable requirements.
- Own requirements from initial discovery through design, testing, launch, and stabilization.
- Proactively identify process gaps, downstream dependencies, financial risks, control implications, and decisions required to move programs forward.
Process Mapping & Solution Design
- Develop detailed current-state and future-state process flows, including system interactions, data handoffs, accounting events, controls, reconciliations, and exception paths.
- Create clear visual process maps and system flows using tools such as Miro, Lucidchart, Visio, or similar platforms.
- Map complex end-to-end flows across systems such as Salesforce → billing/invoicing → Workday Financials → revenue recognition, collections, and reporting.
- Partner with Finance and technical teams to evaluate solution options within Workday Financials and ensure designs support scalable, controlled, auditable financial processes.
Business Requirements & Documentation
- Develop high-quality business requirements documents (BRDs), functional requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, process documentation, decision logs, and traceability documentation.
- Translate Finance, Accounting, and Revenue Recognition requirements (e.g., ASC 606 considerations, contract modifications, multiple performance obligations) into language that technical and product teams can design and build against.
- Ensure requirements address not only the happy path, but also exceptions, reversals, refunds, credit memos, amendments, dunning/collections workflows, reconciliation, accounting treatment, reporting, auditability, and controls.
- Maintain strong traceability from business requirements through solution design and testing.
UAT & Launch Readiness
- Develop comprehensive UAT strategies, test scenarios, test scripts, expected results, test data requirements, and requirements-to-test traceability.
- Coordinate Finance UAT across Billing, AR/Collections, Revenue Accounting, and Controllership teams.
- Manage testing progress, defects, retesting, dependencies, and readiness criteria using tools such as Jira.
- Drive issues to resolution and clearly escalate risks that could affect billing accuracy, revenue recognition, collections, controls, or launch readiness.
- Support go/no-go decisions and post-launch stabilization.
Order-to-Cash & Revenue Operations, AR, Revenue Recognition (Required)
- Quoting and order capture through billing and invoicing
- Revenue recognition, including multi-element arrangements, contract modifications, and deferred revenue
- Experience with various selling motions like renewals, SSR, add-ons, amendments etc.
- Accounts receivable, collections, dunning, and cash application
- Credit memos, refunds, adjustments, and billing exceptions
- Reconciliation between billing, AR, and the general ledger
- Accounting entries and deep Workday Financials configuration/integration knowledge
- Financial reporting and SOX-aligned controls
- (Secondary exposure, as needed) marketplace transactions, consumption/usage-based billing, AI tokens/credits, or Stripe-based settlement workflows
What We're Looking For
- Significant experience as a Senior Business Analyst supporting complex Finance, ERP, Order-to-Cash, Billing, Collections, or Revenue Recognition transformation programs.
- Exceptional ability to take ambiguous problems and create structured process flows, requirements, decisions, and execution plans.
- Strong hands-on experience with process mapping and visualization, preferably Miro.
- Deep experience developing BRDs, user stories, acceptance criteria, process documentation, and UAT artifacts.
- Demonstrated experience leading complex, cross-functional UAT and defect management.
- Strong working knowledge of accounting concepts, revenue recognition principles, and the ability to partner effectively with Revenue Accounting, AR/Collections, Controllership, and Tax teams.
- Deep, hands-on experience with Workday Financials strongly required ; experience with Salesforce preferred.
- Experience with Jira and Agile delivery methodologies.
- Ability to communicate complex process and system issues clearly to both technical teams and senior Finance stakeholders.
About You
What Makes Someone Successful in This Role
This role requires someone who is more than a requirements gatherer. The successful candidate will:
- Think end-to-end: Understand how an upstream order or sales decision ultimately affects billing, collections, accounting, revenue, reporting, controls, and reconciliation.
- Create structure from ambiguity: Turn loosely defined problems into clear O2C processes and requirements.
- Ask the difficult questions: Identify missing decisions, edge cases, control gaps, and downstream implications before they become production issues.
- Be hands-on: Personally build process maps, requirements, test scenarios, documentation, and analysis rather than simply coordinating others.
- Advocate for Finance: Ensure critical billing, revenue recognition, collections, compliance, and control requirements are incorporated into technical designs.
- Drive outcomes: Own work through requirements, design, testing, defects, launch readiness, and stabilization — not just documentation.
Our Approach to Flexible Work
With Flex Work, we’re combining the best of both worlds: in-person time and remote. Our approach enables our teams to deepen connections, maintain a strong community, and do their best work. We know that flexibility can take shape in many ways, so rather than a number of required days in-office each week, we simply spend at least half (50%) of our time each quarter in the office or in the field with our customers, prospects, and partners (depending on role). This means you'll have the freedom to create a flexible schedule that caters to your business, team, and personal needs, while being intentional to make the most of time spent together. Those in our remote "home office" roles also have the opportunity to come together in our offices for important moments that matter.
