About this role
UTA Advisory seeks a Director, Growth Strategy to help advertising, media and technology companies decide where to focus and how to win in their market.
AI, commerce media, streaming, social and creators are reshaping marketing faster than most companies can adjust. Buyers have more choices, attention is harder to earn, and the playbooks that worked three years ago don't anymore. UTA Advisory helps clients understand what is changing, decide where to compete, earn consideration with the buyers who matter, and turn it into revenue.
As a Director, Growth Strategy, you sit at the center of that work. You lead engagements from market research to the recommendation, and on into the narrative, sales enablement and activation into market. You work alongside senior client executives, our Principals and VPs, and a team of consultants and analysts. And you watch the work pay off: the industry sees a client differently, pipeline gets built, and the company finds new opportunities in market.
This is a role for someone who wants to learn, work hard, be at the epicenter of the industry, and become an expert in where it is headed.
- You have worked close to growth, in marketing, sales or advising the people who run them, and you understand what it takes for a company to earn consideration and drive revenue.
- You know how growth really happens. Whether you came up in marketing, sales or consulting, you know the difference between a smart idea and one a sales team will actually use.
- You spend your time with clients. You like being in the room when the decision gets made, and clients trust you to tell them what you really think.
- You are smart and creative. You can build the market map and the business case, and you can also create the line that makes a buyer take notice.
- You thrive on a team. You raise the level of the people around you, give clear direction, and share the credit.
- You want to see the work in results. A strong recommendation is not the finish line for you. Results for the client are.
- You are curious about where this industry is going. Media, advertising, technology and culture are moving fast, and you have a point of view on it.
The salary range for this role is $140,000 - $150,000, commensurate with experience and skills.

Bring it to market
- Turn decisions into the positioning, narrative and messaging that set the client apart
- Build what sales and marketing teams need to use it: pitch materials, proof points, enablement, pricing and packaging
- Plan activation that puts the story in front of the right buyers, drawing on UTA's events, talent, culture and network
- Track what happens next, including pipeline, deals, partnerships and market perception, and use it to sharpen the work
Lead the engagement and the team
- Serve as day-to-day lead and main point of contact for client teams, in partnership with the engagement lead
- Own workplans, timelines and the quality of every deliverable across multiple engagements at once
- Direct and develop consultants and analysts, review their work, and help them grow
Grow the business
- Spot where clients need more help and bring in the right UTA Advisory capabilities
- Partner with leadership on new business, including pitches, proposals and scoping
