Pipeline Supervisor

The opportunity

We’re looking for an experienced Pipeline Supervisor who knows what it takes to safely deliver complex, large-diameter pipeline construction.

You’ll take ownership of pipeline work fronts, leading crews and subcontractors through deep trench excavation, shoring, dewatering, pipe installation, lifting, jointing, backfilling and testing.

The work is challenging and the conditions won’t always be straightforward. Existing services, groundwater, tight tolerances, heavy lifts and changing site conditions all come with the territory.

That’s why we’re looking for someone who has actually supervised this work before . Someone who can look ahead, spot what could hold the job up and work with Engineers and Surveyors to find a practical way forward.

What you’ll do

- Lead large-diameter water and sewer pipeline installation
- Manage deep excavations, trench shoring, dewatering and support systems
- Coordinate pipe laying, bedding, jointing, backfilling and testing
- Plan and oversee heavy lifts, plant movements and pipeline installation activities
- Lead crews, subcontractors and multiple active work fronts
- Manage works around existing services and live infrastructure
- Work closely with Engineers, Surveyors and project teams to resolve site challenges
- Run daily planning, pre-starts and construction activities
- Keep a close eye on programme, productivity, quality and safety
- Identify constructability issues early and find solutions before they become delays

What we’re looking for

- Proven large-diameter pipeline construction experience is essential
- Strong supervisory experience within civil construction
- Extensive experience with deep excavations, trench shoring and groundwater management
- Experience delivering water, sewer or major utility infrastructure
- Strong knowledge of pipe installation, lifting operations, excavation and temporary works
- Confidence working around underground services and live infrastructure
- Experience managing crews, specialist subcontractors and multiple work fronts
- Strong construction planning, safety and problem-solving capability
- Someone who understands that on complex pipeline jobs, what happens below ground can change the whole day
