Join Us at the Forefront of Quantum Computing Innovation 🚀

Description of the Team/Project

When will we be able to design a new molecule to cure cancer? Could RSA-2048 be decrypted in 2032? These are among the important questions posed by our clients.

Answering them requires quantum resource estimation: determining how a specific algorithm, applied to a given problem instance, could run on Quandela’s spin-optical quantum computer. This process—known as compilation—enables us to estimate the hardware resources required, including the number of components and the QPU size needed to solve the problem.

Resource estimation is one of the Algorithms, Applications and AI team missions you'll belong to.

Your Key Responsibilities

- Develop knowledge of fault-tolerant quantum computing, quantum algorithms for chemistry, quantum error correction, and—where needed—quantum compilation.
- Build a deep understanding of a quantum-chemistry algorithm to be defined, and break it down into its constituent subroutines.
- Review the literature on existing resource-estimation approaches for the selected algorithm.
- Adapt the resource-estimation methodology to the bi-planar SPOQC architecture for a specified quantum error-correction code.
- Compile the algorithm using pipe diagrams.
- Integrate the implementation into Quandela tools and evaluate resource requirements across a range of problem-instance sizes.
