About our school:

Ark Blacklands Primary Academy is a popular and oversubscribed school in the heart of Hastings. Graded Outstanding in all areas by Ofsted in 2023, we have a strong track record of securing excellent outcomes for all pupils, particularly those who are most vulnerable.

As Hastings continues to be recognised as an Opportunity Area, we are proud to play a key role in ensuring that every child receives the very best start in life, regardless of their background or circumstances.

We are a large primary school with three forms of entry and 90 children in each year group from Reception to Year 6. Despite our size, we are known for our warm, inclusive culture and the strong relationships we build with our pupils and families. Our staff work hard to ensure every child is known, valued and supported to succeed.

As part of the Ark Schools network, we are united by a shared belief that every child deserves access to an excellent education and real choices in life. We know that great schools are built by great staff, which is why we invest heavily in professional development, collaboration and wellbeing.

Joining Ark Blacklands means joining a talented, supportive and ambitious team, as well as becoming part of Ark, one of the UK's most successful multi-academy trusts and an international education charity with 39 schools across the country.

We work hard to recognise and support our staff:

- At Ark Blacklands, we believe that when staff thrive, children thrive. We are committed to supporting colleagues at every stage of their careers through high-quality professional development, meaningful recognition and a strong sense of community.

- We offer a wide range of development programmes, including ECT, middle leadership and senior leadership pathways, helping you grow and progress throughout your career.
- Most importantly, you will join a caring, collaborative team that is committed to helping you become the very best teacher and leader you can be.
