Waiter

About the Role Social Dining & Nightlife is looking for a friendly, energetic, and professional waiter to join our team. You will provide excellent service to guests during lunch, dinner, and late-night hours, helping create a welcoming atmosphere where every guest enjoys their visit from arrival to departure.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and seat them according to the floor plan and reservations
- Present menus, specials, and beverage offerings, and make recommendations
- Take food and drink orders accurately and enter them into the POS system
- Serve food and beverages promptly and safely
- Upsell appetizers, wines, cocktails, and bottle service where appropriate
- Check on guests during their meal and respond quickly to requests or concerns
- Handle payments and split bills accurately
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe section, including tables, bar area, and service stations
- Follow food safety, responsible alcohol service, and hygiene standards
- Work effectively with bartenders, kitchen staff, and fellow servers
- Assist with opening and closing duties, including side work and setup
Requirements
- Previous experience as a waiter, server, or in hospitality (preferred, not essential for entry-level candidates)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to stay calm, professional, and friendly during busy, high-energy shifts
- Comfortable working evenings, weekends, holidays, and late-night hours
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and carry trays
- Basic math skills and ability to operate a POS system
- Knowledge of food and beverage products, or willingness to learn
- Valid food handler or responsible alcohol service certification is a plus
- Ability to work well in a team and follow instructions
