About this role

Join DOF as our new Group Head of Compliance!

Would you like to lead and strengthen compliance across a global maritime and offshore organisation?

DOF is looking for a proactive and business-oriented Group Head of Compliance to join our corporate team. In this role, you will work closely with colleagues across the organisation to further develop, implement and manage effective compliance processes that support responsible and sustainable business practices.

This is a varied and hands-on role where you will combine sound legal and compliance expertise with the authority and judgement required to challenge established practices and drive consistent ways of working. Working closely with Legal, regional management and relevant corporate functions, you will help DOF manage compliance risk, enabling sound and responsible business decisions.

Your impact in DOF

As Group Head of Compliance, you will lead the continued development of DOF’s compliance framework and provide functional direction on compliance across the Group, helping the organisation identify, understand and manage compliance risks. Your responsibilities may include:

- Own and develop DOF’s global compliance framework, policies and procedures.
- Set Group-wide compliance standards and drive consistent ways of working across regions and functions, balancing global consistency with local regulatory requirements.
- Lead compliance risk assessments, follow-up actions and management reporting.
- Lead and oversee integrity due diligence and Know Your Customer (KYC) processes.
- Maintain oversight of sanctions and export control requirements, working closely with corporate and operational stakeholders.
- Lead compliance assessments relating to new markets, partnerships and transactions.
- Oversee the investigation, follow-up and close-out of reported concerns and potential compliance breaches.
- Drive consistent compliance practices through guidance, training and continuous improvement.
- Proactively monitor compliance activities, regulatory developments and emerging requirements, and support management reporting.

You will work closely with legal and senior stakeholders across DOF’s corporate functions, business areas and regions. You will be expected to combine a pragmatic, business-oriented approach with the independence and integrity required to take a clear position and escalate where necessary.

Who are you?

We are looking for a credible compliance leader who combines sound judgement with a practical understanding of international business and operations. You are comfortable working across functions and regions and can communicate compliance requirements in a clear and business-relevant way, building trust and influencing stakeholders while maintaining the independence and authority required to challenge established practices. You may be a good match if you have:

- Relevant higher education within law, audit, finance, business, risk management or a related discipline.
- Relevant experience from compliance, legal, audit, risk management or a similar field, including functional or leadership responsibility in a complex international organisation.
- Experience from the maritime, offshore, energy or another internationally regulated industry.
- Extensive knowledge of compliance risk assessment, integrity due diligence and KYC processes.
- Experience driving common standards and consistent ways of working across functions, business areas and jurisdictions.
- Analytical and organisational skills, with a structured approach to your work.
- Good communication skills and fluency in English, both written and spoken.
- High integrity, independent judgment and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters appropriately.

Is this the perfect role for you, but you don’t meet every single requirement? We value the right person over a perfect match to a job description. Research shows that underrepresented groups are less likely to apply unless they meet every listed requirement, and we don’t want that to hold great talent back, so we encourage you to apply. It’s the best way for us to find the right talent for this role, or another, and that could be you.

Why choose DOF?

In DOF, you will join a global company with a strong local presence and work closely with experienced colleagues across corporate and operational disciplines. We offer:

- A role with global impact: Lead and shape compliance across DOF’s business areas, regions and operations, working with stakeholders across corporate and operational functions.
- Meaningful responsibility: Own a critical Group function and help safeguard DOF through clear standards, sound governance and responsible business conduct.
- Professional development: Apply and further develop your expertise across compliance, risk management and international business.
- A strong employee package: Competitive pension and insurance schemes, physical activity subsidy, numerous social events and access to company apartments at Myrkdalen.
- A global environment: Work alongside colleagues, vessels and projects across several regions.

Practical information

Office location: At our Marineholmen office in Bergen, Norway.

Application deadline: 22.11.2026

Recruitment process: All applications must be submitted through our application portal Workable. Selected candidates will go through an initial screening. Shortlisted candidates will then continue on to interviews.

Security assessment: For this position, DOF will conduct an assessment of the applicant's security suitability, including affiliations to high-risk countries and a background check. High-risk countries are defined as those that, according to the Norwegian Police Security Service (PST), are considered to pose a threat to Norway’s national security interests. Please note that the outcome of such assessments may affect the recruitment process and the possibility of employment.

According to Norwegian security authorities, candidates with affiliation to high-risk countries may pose a potential security risk because they are more vulnerable to being exploited and/or recruited by state threat actors. The assessment of affiliation to high-risk countries is carried out by asking all applicants to answer questions designed to identify any affiliation with high-risk countries. If the candidate proceeds further in the recruitment process, additional mapping questions will be sent in order to assess the degree of affiliation with the high-risk country.

The affiliation assessment is based on non-discriminatory criteria and does not involve any differential treatment based on ethnicity or other protected characteristics. The assessment will focus on how closely the candidate is affiliated with the country through factors such as citizenship, family relationships, financial relationships or other affiliations. The assessment of affiliation to high-risk countries forms part of an overall assessment of the candidate’s security suitability.
