About this role

Job Requirements

At Quest Global, it’s not just what we do but how and why we do it that makes us different. With over 25 years as an engineering services provider, we believe in the power of doing things differently to make the impossible possible. Our people are driven by the desire to make the world a better place—to make a positive difference that contributes to a brighter future. We bring together technologies and industries, alongside the contributions of diverse individuals who are empowered by an intentional workplace culture, to solve problems better and faster.

Job Profile:

The Layout Engineer plays a central role in our projects and acts as the coordinator of the overall design. The role requires close collaboration with multiple engineering disciplines, including mechanical design, piping, electrical systems, instrumentation, installation, and project engineering.

As the owner of the overall plant and package layout, the Layout Engineer is responsible for ensuring that the 3D model accurately reflects the combined input from all disciplines and remains aligned with project requirements throughout the project lifecycle.

The role also requires a strong customer perspective. Layout drawings are often needed at an early stage by the customer to support planning of foundations, buildings, utilities, installation areas, and site preparation activities. Therefore, Layout Engineers work closely with both project teams and customers to ensure that the layout supports both the technical design and project requirements.

The role also requires Competency in Piping Design, who will be responsible for the design and routing of both internal and external piping systems for gas turbine packages. The role requires close collaboration with multiple engineering disciplines, including layout, mechanical design, instrumentation, electrical systems, project engineering, manufacturing, and installation. The piping design must balance technical requirements, manufacturability, accessibility for maintenance, installation constraints, and interfaces with surrounding equipment and structures. They are expected to do technical coordination activities across the project organization.

Key Responsibilities:

· Plant, Piping and Package layout throughout the project lifecycle

· Creation and update of layout and installation drawings in NX

· Annotation, dimensioning, tagging, and detailing of drawings

· Implementation of layout revisions based on engineering input

· Maintenance and update of project 3D models

· Import and management of supplier 3D models

· Support in model quality checks and drawing preparation prior to release

· Understanding of Electrical layouts.

· Execution of defined CAD and modelling tasks according to customer standards and processes

· Design and routing of both internal and external piping systems for gas turbine packages. The role requires close collaboration with multiple engineering disciplines, including layout, mechanical design, instrumentation, electrical systems, project engineering, manufacturing, and installation.

· The piping design must balance technical requirements, manufacturability, accessibility for maintenance, installation constraints, and interfaces with surrounding equipment and structures

· 3D modelling and routing activities in NX

· Implementation of engineering changes and revisions

· Updating existing piping systems based on instructions from lead engineers

We are known for our extraordinary people who make the impossible possible every day. Questions are driven by hunger, humility, and aspiration. We believe that our company culture is the key to our ability to make a true difference in every industry we reach. Our teams regularly invest time and dedicated effort into internal culture work, ensuring that all voices are heard.

We wholeheartedly believe in the diversity of thought that comes with fostering a culture rooted in respect, where everyone belongs, is valued, and feels inspired to share their ideas. We know embracing our unique differences makes us better, and that solving the worlds hardest engineering problems requires diverse ideas, perspectives, and backgrounds. We shine the brightest when we tap into the many dimensions that thrive across over 23,000 difference-makers in our workplace.
