###
The Position
In Roche’s Pharmaceutical Research and Early Development organisation (pRED), we make transformative medicines for patients to tackle some of the world’s toughest unmet healthcare needs. At pRED, we are united by our mission to transform science into medicines. Together, we create a culture defined by curiosity, responsibility, and humility, where our talented people are empowered and inspired to bring forward extraordinary, life-changing innovation at speed.
At the intersection of science and innovation, pRED’s Pharmaceutical Sciences (PS) organisation enables the discovery and development of safe and effective therapeutics at optimal doses in relevant populations. By seamlessly integrating our three core pillars—Translational Safety, Translational Pharmacology, and Biomarkers—we drive end-to-end asset development across the entire value chain, from target assessment to on-market support.
Within this framework, the Bioanalytics and Biomarkers (BioAM) department supports molecules of all therapeutic modalities and disease indications with innovative technological solutions. Aligning with our mission to continuously improve predictive accuracy and accelerate the development of tomorrow's therapeutics, we pioneer new ways of bioanalytical work to support the fast and successful filing of our compounds. We recognise that we constantly need to adapt and improve the way we work to be able to deliver “what patients need next.”
The Opportunity
In this position, you will:
- Gain hands-on exposure to state-of-the-art bioanalytical technologies, including ultra High Performance Liquid Chromatography (uHPLC), Triple Quadrupole and High Resolution mass spectrometers, and sample processors.
- Learn how to develop and implement innovative LC-MS/MS methodologies for the quantitation of drugs (e.g. small molecules, oligonucleotides, degraders, or large molecules) in biological matrices, increasing bioanalytical sensitivity to support pRED’s growing drug pipeline.
- Apply these analytical methods to biological study samples (preclinical and clinical), delivering high-quality data.
- Collaborate within a team of 7 associates under the supervision of a laboratory head and the guidance of experienced team members.
Who You Are
You are an ambitious master student who is currently enrolled in life sciences (preferably in the area of molecular life science or analytical chemistry) or in a gap year between degrees. Ideally, you bring the following skills and experience:
- Experienced in the practical application of chromatographic-mass spectrometric analytical methods.
- A person who works systematically and precisely and brings a high level of initiative as well as a dedicated attitude.
