About this role

As Cybersecurity Sales Lead, you’ll help grow cybersecurity revenue across Charterhouse’s Core Services division while providing day-to-day functional leadership to a team of three Cybersecurity Sales Specialists. You will remain an active seller, taking ownership of assigned cybersecurity opportunities from discovery through to close and managing customer relationships where agreed. Alongside your own commercial remit, you will coordinate team activity, support deal progression, share best practice and help create a consistent, collaborative approach to profitable growth. Formal line-management responsibility may sit elsewhere.

You will sell across both public sector and commercial customers, typically organisations of 500 seats and above. Our security portfolio spans Hybrid Mesh network security, MDR and SOCaaS, workplace security, AI security and threat management. It is supported by strategic relationships with Check Point, Cato Networks, Fortinet, Palo Alto Networks, Rapid7 and SentinelOne, giving customers a choice of platforms and service models. Knowing which approach fits each buyer matters, particularly where public sector customers face data-residency, framework and G-Cloud requirements.

Success in this role means strong performance across your own remit and the wider team: retaining and expanding account relationships, securing annuity renewals, creating incremental security and cross-sell opportunities, maintaining healthy new-logo pipelines and delivering strong, profitable margin.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day functional leadership to three Cybersecurity Sales Specialists, setting clear priorities and promoting consistent ways of working.

• Coach and support the team through opportunity qualification, account planning, pipeline development, deal strategy and commercial negotiation.

• Coordinate team pipeline reviews, identify risks and dependencies, and help remove barriers to progression while maintaining clear individual opportunity ownership.

• Promote effective collaboration with account managers, technical specialists, delivery teams and partners, ensuring the right resources are engaged at the right stage.

• Manage an agreed portfolio of customer accounts, maintaining strong relationships, protecting existing revenue and owning annuity renewals.

• Develop new security opportunities within your own accounts and, in partnership with the relevant account manager, across the wider Charterhouse customer base. Identify cross-sell opportunities and introduce the appropriate Charterhouse specialists to progress them.

• Acquire true new-logo business through targeted prospecting, market mapping and account prioritisation across public sector and commercial customers.

• Lead the shaping and closing of opportunities across Hybrid Mesh network security, MDR and SOCaaS, workplace security, AI security and threat management.

• Position the right security technology and service model for each buyer, balancing business outcomes, risk, integration, scalability and operational requirements.

• Navigate public sector buying, including frameworks, G-Cloud, data-residency and security accreditation requirements, alongside faster-moving commercial deal cycles.

• Grow Charterhouse’s security presence in its strongest verticals (NHS, local government, higher education) and in growth areas such as housing associations and corporate finance, manufacturing and media.

• Build strong relationships with strategic and specialist security partner teams to generate joint opportunities.

• Drive commercial negotiations and bids, working with pre-sales, solution architects, service, legal and finance teams to deliver compelling and profitable proposals.

• Establish clear roles and ownership across the sales team and with account managers, including who manages the customer relationship, who leads each sales opportunity and when ongoing account responsibility should transfer.

• Set expectations for accurate, up-to-date CRM records across the team, including account plans, renewals, prospect interactions, cross-sell referrals, opportunities, pipeline stages and agreed ownership.

• Stay informed on the threat landscape, industry trends, emerging technologies and Charterhouse’s evolving solution portfolio.

What You Bring

Essential

• Extensive experience (typically 7 to 10+ years) in cybersecurity sales with a UK integrator, reseller or managed security provider, with a strong record of retaining and growing accounts, securing renewals, cross-selling and acquiring new customers.

• Hands-on experience selling solutions across Hybrid Mesh network security, MDR and SOCaaS, workplace security, AI security and threat management.

• A genuine mix of public sector and commercial experience: credible running framework-driven, NHS-aware public sector cycles and fast-moving enterprise deals.

• A balanced player-coach mindset: able to deliver your own commercial results while helping others manage customer relationships, develop opportunities and win new business.

• A consultative approach that asks the right questions before proposing anything, and the ability to build trust with customers and vendors alike.

• Experience providing functional leadership, coaching or deal support to other sellers, with the credibility to set standards and influence performance without relying on formal line-management authority.

• Strong commercial acumen with understanding of margin, contracting and complex negotiation structures.

• Based within practical travelling distance of either the London (Liverpool Street) or Liverpool office and comfortable with hybrid working and customer travel.

Desirable

• An established network with partner and vendor teams across the cybersecurity market.

• Experience selling managed detection and response or SOCaaS alongside security technology and managed services.

• Appetite to help open new markets, such as central government, where Charterhouse is not yet established.
