About this role

Manager, Signature Events & Community Fundraising

Help us transform the way Canadians access healthcare.

At Hope Air, we believe that distance and financial barriers should never stand between Canadians and the medical care they need. As Canada's national charity providing free flights and accommodations to patients in financial need who must travel for medical care, we connect people to care, communities to opportunity, and partners to meaningful impact.

We are looking for a dynamic, strategic and relationship-driven Manager, Signature Events & Community Fundraising to lead the growth, development and execution of our national signature fundraising programs and third-party community events reporting to the Director of Events.

This is an opportunity to help shape some of Hope Air's most distinctive fundraising experiences — from Haul for Hope , our high-energy, team-based aircraft pull challenge, to Give Hope Wings , our aviation-inspired fundraising initiative that brings volunteer pilots, community champions and supporters together to help patients get to care. Working alongside leading aviation partners, including WestJet and Porter Airlines, these unique programs combine purpose, partnership and memorable experiences to inspire participation, deepen corporate engagement and generate meaningful fundraising results.

The successful candidate will bring a strategic mindset, strong project management skills and a passion for building relationships, empowering volunteers and growing innovative fundraising programs across Canada.

As Manager, Signature Events & Community Fundraising, you will:

- Manage signature fundraising programs by overseeing the planning, development, delivery and ongoing evolution of Haul for Hope, Give Hope Wings and other national fundraising initiatives, ensuring exceptional participant experiences and strong fundraising performance.

- Help drive program growth and innovation by identifying new opportunities to expand event reach, increase participation, strengthen fundraising results and enhance Hope Air's presence in communities across Canada.

- Build strategic partnerships with corporate sponsors, aviation industry partners, community organizations and event supporters to maximize engagement, strengthen collaboration and create meaningful fundraising opportunities.

- Empower third-party fundraisers by developing relationships with community event organizers, volunteer committees and fundraising champions, providing the tools, guidance and resources they need to deliver successful events in support of Hope Air.

- Assist with the development fundraising and engagement strategies that drive participant recruitment, peer-to-peer fundraising, donor acquisition, sponsorship engagement and long-term supporter loyalty.

- Manage and execute event communications and marketing by developing compelling program materials, participant resources, recruitment campaigns and digital communications that bring Hope Air's mission to life and inspire action.

- Lead participant and support volunteer engagement through recruitment initiatives, training sessions, presentations and ongoing support that equip event teams, volunteer leaders and community champions for success.

- Manage digital fundraising and reporting by overseeing peer-to-peer fundraising campaigns, individual fundraiser pages and program optimization within Luminate Online, while establishing reporting frameworks to track participation, revenue, engagement and program performance.

- Champion donor stewardship by developing year-round engagement strategies that recognize and retain participants, donors, volunteers, corporate partners and community supporters.

- Support execution nationally by providing leadership and onsite direction for signature and third-party events, ensuring seamless delivery, strong partner visibility, meaningful mission integration and a high-quality experience for all involved.

- Manage budgets, timelines and program resources to support efficient operations, sound financial oversight and the successful delivery of multiple concurrent initiatives.

What you bring to the team

- Demonstrated experience in fundraising, event management, peer-to-peer fundraising or community fundraising, ideally with experience leading programs from strategy through execution.

- Experience managing complex events, fundraising initiatives or multi-site programs, with a track record of delivering results and improving program performance.

- Strong relationship management skills and experience working with corporate sponsors, volunteers, committees, community partners and third-party event organizers.

- Experience developing and implementing fundraising strategies that drive revenue, participation, engagement and supporter retention.

- Proficiency with online fundraising platforms and reporting tools; experience with Luminate Online, TeamRaiser and Salesforce is an asset.

- Strong project and budget management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, multiple timelines and changing demands in a fast-paced environment.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to deliver engaging presentations, develop compelling fundraising materials and inspire diverse audiences.

- A collaborative, solutions-oriented approach, supported by strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills.

- A passion for building relationships, creating memorable experiences and advancing a mission that makes a tangible difference in people's lives.

- Flexibility to travel nationally and work occasional evenings and weekends in support of event delivery.
