Job Role and Responsibility: Xilinx, Inc., a subsidiary of AMD, Inc., is hiring Sr. Software Development Engineer to Research, design, develop, and/or test operating systems-level software, compilers, and/or network distribution software for semiconductor operations, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis. Develop key Software Components of Reference Designs/Platforms and Solutions working collaboratively with teams comprising of system, hardware and software engineers. Participate in architecture and framework definitions for software components of platforms and solutions. Participate in and resolve critical customer support cases in software applications. Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for enhancements and new products. Understand and define software requirements and architectures. Develop software and tools in support of design, infrastructure and technology platforms, including operating systems, compilers, routers, networks, utilities, databases, cloud-based and Internet related tools. Define proprietary platform(s), including hardware and software components. Drive software and systems solutions including development and product definitions. Work with cross-functional teams including engineers to develop systems-level software, working on significant and unique issues where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangibles. Drive projects or processes of significant technical importance. Exercise independent judgment to select methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results with little to no supervision. Utilize knowledge of computers and electronics, including computer hardware and software, applications, and programming, as well as knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. Apply knowledge of engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of various AMD systems and products.

Qualifications: Degree required

Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering, or related field.

Qualifications: Amount and type of experience required : One (1) year of experience in the job offered or a closely related engineering role.

Specific skills required: The following skills are required:

Position requires experience in the following:

- Software verification;
- Functional verification of microprocessors;
- Creation of C models for design;
- C/C++, Python, Bash, and Shell;
- Linux / Windows internals;
- Direct Memory Access (DMA) Systems;
- GPIO Interfaces; and
- I2C Bus Systems.

Experience may be gained through graduate-level coursework, research, or internship experience.
