Support the Controller in managing accounting operations across the group of companies, including financial reporting, cost tracking, and internal controls.

- Maintain accurate general ledger accounts for multiple companies and reconcile intercompany, and other balance sheet accounts. Investigate discrepancies and follow up on outstanding items.

- Month-End Close and Financial Reporting:

Coordinate assigned month-end and year-end close activities, prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, and provide variance analysis for review by the Controller.

- Financial Software and Tools:

Use accounting software, such as QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, and Excel to maintain financial records, reconcile transactions, and prepare reporting across multiple companies.

- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting, and financial workflows, and support implementation with the Controller.

- Communication:

Collaborate with finance, billing, administrative, and operational teams to resolve financial issues and explain financial results clearly.

- Build effective relationships with company stakeholders, suppliers, and external advisors, and help apply consistent financial policies and procedures across the group.

- Other duties as assigned from time to time.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with a recently earned CPA designation or current enrollment in the CPA program.

- CPA designation is considered an asset.

- Practical accounting experience gained through employment, public practice, co-op placements, or internships, with exposure to reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting.

- Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and a commitment to accurate reporting and protecting confidential information.

- A solid foundation in accounting principles, month-end processes, and internal controls. Experience with multi-company or intercompany accounting is an asset; healthcare experience is welcome but not required.

- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to manage competing deadlines and work effectively with finance and operational teams.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks or Sage, with a willingness to learn new systems and processes.
