Purpose

Leads and oversees the Finance workstream supporting the Velocity program, Tangerine’s migration of its core banking platform to a new cloud-based system and Credit Card launch, ensuring Finance requirements, plans and initiatives are executed and delivered in accordance with governing regulations, internal policies, procedures and established Finance control requirements. The Senior Manager, Credit Card Finance Projects will represent Finance within the cross-functional Velocity team and lead the design, validation and implementation of accounting, financial reporting, Finance data, reconciliation, control, regulatory reporting and operational readiness requirements required for launch. This is primarily a project delivery and product launch role, with responsibility for implementation readiness, launch stabilization and transition to BAU. Following implementation, the Senior Manager will provide structured and time-bound stabilization support, including initial accounting-cycle validation, reconciliation support, issue remediation, documentation and knowledge transfer. Permanent ownership of recurring credit card accounting, settlement, reconciliation, regulatory reporting, vendor oversight and related BAU activities will transition to the designated Finance and operational owners. This preserves the scope distinction in your current JD, where BAU ownership transitions to the designated owners after stabilization

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

- Lead the Finance workstream for the Velocity Credit Card launch and ensure Finance requirements and dependencies are identified, documented, implemented, tested and operationally ready for launch.

- Lead the design and documentation of the end-to-end accounting model for the new credit card product, from transaction origination through accounting processing and general ledger posting to financial and regulatory reporting.

- Develop Finance business requirements with strong accounting, financial reporting, regulatory, governance and control focus.

- Define accounting requirements, business rules, journal entry logic, posting events, accounting dimensions, reference data and audit-trail requirements.

- Design the chart of accounts and related GL mappings required to support financial accounting, management reporting, reconciliations, and regulatory reporting.

- Define transaction-level and balance-level Finance data requirements, including required attributes, source systems, frequency, timing, history, granularity, lineage and retention requirements.

- Ensure Finance data requirements support accounting, period-end close, reconciliation, management reporting, auditability and applicable regulatory reporting.

- Define requirements for financial, management, and regulatory reporting.

- Establish appropriate reconciliation keys and end-to-end traceability from the source of transaction or economic event through accounting rules, journal entries, GL postings and reported balances.

- Define, design and validate Finance reconciliations across the credit card platform or processor, card network, settlement activity, bank accounts, accounting records and GL balances.

- Partner with Product, Technology, Data, Operations, Risk, Compliance, Finance and external service providers to ensure end-to-end Finance readiness.

- Identify Finance risks, dependencies, gaps and issues and support timely decision-making, escalation and remediation.
