Machine Operator

SUMMARY

The Machine Operator is responsible for the overall production and operational maintenance of a highly complex converting machine to include but not limited to: set-up, operation, troubleshooting, training, housekeeping and crew maintenance of machines in designated department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues on an assigned machine.

- Set-up and operate the assigned machine.

- Process material through machine according to company specifications

- Ensure all production data is entered appropriately and accurately in the production software

- Inspect and maintain product quality. Promptly report non-conformances to production management

- Organize work area and/or move materials as required

- Comply with all company policies and procedures to include safety and promptly report any and all concerns to management to mitigate risks.

- Assists in developing new production techniques that increase efficiency and output. Implement into production and provide training as required .

- Promptly report any mechanical or electrical concerns related to required maintenance of machines

- Work with the production management team to consistently achieve performance goals and objectives

- Special projects and assignments as business dictates

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

- This position has no supervisory responsibilities

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

- High school diploma or equivalent required. Associates degree or technical certificate preferred

- 2-4 years of Machine operation experience

- Previous experience in a corrugated manufacturing facility preferred

- Ability to work a flexible schedule

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

- Demonstrated understanding of training methods for a production operation

- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills

- Knowledge in MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook

- Demonstrated initiative and self- motivation

- Must have attention to detail and focused concentration.

- Must be able to complete tasks that require a particular speed or productivity quota.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for a prolonged period as well as bending and stooping regularly.

- The job duties will require the employee to utilize repetitive fine manipulation with hands.

- The employee must use hands to handle and feel.

- The employee is frequently required to talk or hear.

- The employee is required to reach with hands and arms.

- Specific vision abilities for this job include close vision, distance vision and depth vision.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

- The noise level in the WORK ENVIRONMENT requires the use of hearing protection.
