Job Description

As Senior Product Manager, Payer Connectivity, you'll own how Experian Health connects with healthcare payers for exchanges such as claims submission, claim status, eligibility, and authorization. You will set priorities for an engineering team and lead product discovery for one of the most important parts of the Experian Health portfolio. This includes payer connections (X12 and API), intelligent routing and load balancing, and connection performance monitoring and error handling.

Location:

At Experian, we believe great work happens when people come together. We're focused on attracting talent in and around our designated hub locations who are open to collaborating with colleagues in person. Aligning employees to these talent markets helps foster collaboration, strengthen team connections, and support long-term career growth within Experian. You will report to the Sr. Director of Product, Clearinghouse, and reside in or near one of our collaboration hubs:

Costa Mesa, CA; San Jose, CA; Allen, TX; Austin, TX; Franklin, TN; New York, NY; Schaumberg, IL; Washington, D.C.; Atlanta, GA; Boston, MA; Seattle, WA

You will have opportunity to:

- Own the direction and roadmap for payer connectivity products, including X12 and API connections, routing, and connection monitoring.
- Guide priorities, delivery, and quality for an engineering team building eligibility, remittance, and payer connectivity products.
- Use customer research, market trends, and payer response data to define product requirements and shape the long-term roadmap.
- Build data-driven business cases to secure investment for initiatives such as new payer connections and new remittance data sources.
- Partner with engineering and design leaders to work through trade-offs when adding new payer connections and data sources.
- Meet with payers, health-system customers, and internal teams (engineering, compliance, product) to present the roadmap, gather feedback, and balance competing requests.
- Use AI and prototyping tools to speed up discovery and requirements, and look for responsible ways to build AI into the product.
- Apply healthcare regulations and data-protection requirements, such as HIPAA, X12 EDI standards, and CMS interoperability rules, across strategy, development, and delivery.

Qualifications

- 5+ years of product management experience, including owning a product area from start to finish.
- Experience in healthcare IT, revenue cycle management, EDI transaction processing, or a related area. Direct experience with eligibility (270/271), claim status (276/277), or remittance (835) transactions is strongly preferred.
- Experience guiding an engineering team and owning a product roadmap.
- Experience writing product requirements and using data, including AI-assisted analysis and AI tools such as chat-based assistants, agentic tools, or Cursor, to validate assumptions and set priorities.
- Experience leading customer-facing meetings, presenting roadmaps, gathering feedback, and negotiating scope with customers and senior stakeholders.
- Familiarity with HIPAA, X12 EDI standards, and the clearinghouse competitive landscape (for example, Waystar, Availity, and Change Healthcare).
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; advanced degree is a plus.
- Reside in, or near the designated Collaboration Hub(s) for this role.
