About this role

# Job Description Summary
Our factory only works when the right materials arrive at the right time. In this role, you lead sourcing and supply chain management at our Cienega de Flores site. You will connect production needs with supplier capacity and market demand, and you will reduce risk and improve efficiency across the plant. The decisions you make help GE Vernova (GEV) build equipment that supports a more reliable and sustainable energy future.

You lead a team and also contribute hands-on. You set the direction for sourcing, negotiate with key suppliers, and work with colleagues in Production, Finance, and Sales to solve problems early.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

- Lead sourcing strategy: Build and carry out sourcing plans that keep costs, quality, and lead times competitive.
- Negotiate with suppliers: Lead complex negotiations that cover price, guaranteed capacity, and response times.
- Manage total cost of ownership (TCO): Look beyond unit price to include logistics, quality risk, and obsolescence.
- Control inventory: Set stock policies that protect working capital and reduce excess and obsolete (E&O) inventory.
- Plan materials and production: Oversee the material lifecycle so the plant meets its backlog and stays aligned with production line balance.
- Join Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP): Help match customer demand with production and supply capacity.
- Reduce supply risk: Find weak points such as single-source suppliers, adjust deliveries when plans change, and put clear mitigation plans in place.

Qualifications

Ideal candidate: You are a supply chain leader who stays calm when supply or demand shifts, enjoys solving problems on the production floor, and can explain operational needs in financial terms.

Required

- Bachelor's degree.
- 8 or more years of experience in Purchasing, Materials Planning, or Supply Chain Management in a manufacturing setting.
- Experience managing key performance indicators (KPIs) and applying Lean Manufacturing methods.
- Experience with an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system such as SAP, Oracle, or QAD.
- Skill in data analysis with tools such as Power BI and advanced Excel.
- Working knowledge of international logistics, including Incoterms, customs, and transit time management.

Preferred

- Master's degree in supply chain management or a Master of Business Administration (MBA).
- Experience working with Production, Finance, and Sales teams to turn technical needs into financial impact.
- Hands-on "Gemba" practice: going to the production floor to understand and solve issues where they happen.
