About this role

Description

At Amazon, we're working to be the most customer-centric company on earth. To get there, we need exceptionally talented, bright, safety-oriented and driven people. The Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team are the business partners who work tirelessly behind the scenes to keep our network running — maintaining and optimizing the equipment, systems, and infrastructure that make the Amazon customer experience possible.

The RME Manager is the site engineering lead for all reliability, maintenance, and engineering matters at MEX3. This role owns equipment availability, maintenance planning, budget management, and vendor management across the Fulfillment Center, and is responsible for leading the site maintenance team and building a strong culture of safety. The RME Manager ensures all statutory compliance requirements are met to provide a safe working environment for every occupant of the building, delivers a high level of equipment availability to the General Manager, and partners with the International RME and Central Engineering teams to plan for future growth. The role operates under the International RME framework (AMS — Amazon Maintenance System) and includes taking part in network-wide improvement initiatives and implementing standards created elsewhere in the network.

Key Job Responsibilities

- Lead, develop, and mentor the site maintenance team (Area Managers and technicians), owning annual performance management and talent development for direct reports.

- Own overall building and facilities maintenance — reliability, performance, and cost — for all equipment, electrical systems, HVAC-R infrastructure, PLC control systems, conveyors, sortation, and material handling equipment (MHE).

- Partner with the site Safety department and Site Leadership to implement, record, and audit safety and statutory compliance programs. Own the legal responsibilities as the site engineering lead within this framework.

- Own and manage the site RME budget, including maintenance planning, spare-parts strategy, and cost control.

- Develop and apply Preventive Maintenance (PM) routines, with a key focus on preventative maintenance programs that drive equipment availability.

- Manage third-party vendor relationships and AMCs (Annual Maintenance Contracts) with appropriate service levels; conduct technical review of vendor deliverables for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.

- Implement standards validated by the International RME / Central Engineering team and participate in continuous improvement initiatives to create or update standards as required.

- Work with the recruitment team to ensure allocated headcount is filled with high-quality, experienced staff.

- Deliver regular status reports and executive-level briefings to senior stakeholders across engineering, operations, and safety functions.
