About this role
SUMMARY
Mortenson is seeking a Manufacturing Executive to lead BLUvera's manufacturing organization and build a safe, scalable, and high-performing multi-site manufacturing network. Reporting to the Director of Manufacturing, this executive will have enterprise responsibility for manufacturing operations across BLUvera's permanent, mobile, and project-proximate facilities.
The Manufacturing Executive will translate business demand into predictable execution, aligning people, capacity, materials, facilities, and production systems to deliver safe, right-first-time, on-time, and cost-effective customer outcomes. This leader will establish consistent operating standards, performance expectations, leadership routines, and accountability across locations while developing an organization capable of supporting continued growth.
This role leads Senior Operations Managers and the broader manufacturing leadership organization, with responsibility for multi-site operational performance, capacity planning, standardization, continuous improvement, and leadership development.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead BLUvera's manufacturing organization across all operating locations, product families, and manufacturing models.
- Establish and execute the enterprise manufacturing strategy in alignment with BLUvera's business priorities, customer commitments, and growth plans.
- Own manufacturing performance across safety, quality, delivery, cost, throughput, labor efficiency, capacity, and team development.
- Lead, coach, and develop Senior Operations Managers and other manufacturing leaders responsible for facility and regional performance.
- Create clear accountability between enterprise manufacturing leadership, multi-site leaders, Operations Managers, Superintendents, production teams, and supporting functions.
- Establish a consistent BLUvera manufacturing operating system, including standard work, daily management, tiered accountability, visual performance management, escalation practices, and leader standard work.
- Build common performance standards, KPIs, scorecards, and operating rhythms across manufacturing locations.
- Translate backlog, forecasts, product requirements, and project demand into facility, labor, equipment, tooling, and capacity plans.
- Lead network-level decisions regarding production allocation, facility utilization, workforce deployment, production readiness, and operational tradeoffs.
- Ensure facilities have the leadership, workforce capability, production systems, equipment, materials, documentation, and support required to meet customer commitments.
- Partner with Supply Chain and S&OP leaders to improve material availability, production planning, inventory strategy, supplier readiness, logistics, and schedule stability.
- Partner with Manufacturing Engineering to industrialize products, establish capable production processes, improve layouts and flow, develop tooling and automation, and transition new products into repeatable production.
- Partner with Quality to embed critical-to-quality requirements, inspection standards, process controls, corrective action, and prevention into daily manufacturing operations.
- Partner with Safety leadership to create consistent expectations, eliminate operational risk, and strengthen a culture in which safe execution is fundamental to how work is planned and performed.
- Partner with Product Management, Project Management, Engineering, and Commercial leaders to improve upstream readiness and create successful handoffs into manufacturing.
- Establish production-readiness expectations so released designs, materials, technical documentation, labor plans, and quality requirements are complete before work enters production.
- Lead recovery planning and executive escalation for material operational risks, including safety exposures, quality failures, capacity constraints, schedule threats, labor gaps, and supplier disruptions.
- Drive standardization across locations while preserving the flexibility required to support different products, customers, workforce models, and project conditions.
- Lead continuous improvement across manufacturing by applying Lean principles, value-stream thinking, root-cause problem solving, process control, and disciplined countermeasure follow-through.
- Improve manufacturing flow, productivity, labor performance, cycle time, first-pass quality, schedule reliability, and asset utilization.
- Replace dependence on individual heroics with repeatable systems, documented processes, clear decision rights, and measurable performance.
- Create a structured approach for moving successful improvements from prototype to test, standard work, training, deployment, and sustained execution.
- Build manufacturing capability through workforce planning, succession planning, leadership development, technical training, and clearly defined career paths.
- Develop an engaged manufacturing culture grounded in trust, teamwork, accountability, respect, learning, service, and ownership.
- Evaluate organizational structure, spans of control, leadership capacity, and staffing needs as BLUvera's manufacturing footprint grows.
- Support manufacturing facility strategy, expansion planning, operating-model decisions, and capital investment recommendations.
- Develop business cases for equipment, automation, facility, workforce, and process investments based on capacity, safety, quality, cost, and customer value.
- Provide executive leadership with clear reporting on manufacturing performance, capacity, risks, constraints, recovery actions, and investment needs.
- Represent BLUvera manufacturing with customers, business partners, suppliers, and Mortenson leaders.
- Ensure the manufacturing organization consistently delivers on BLUvera's commitments while building the systems and capabilities required for future growth.
